...She has opened a metaphorical hunting season but she doesn't know that she is about to be the quarry this time.

First, I was sick of the predictable gushing over her performance. I don't see what the big deal is. She gets locked away for three days to perfect delivery on a speech she wrote nary a single word of, then delivers a litany of invective and lies to an audience of true believers. Color me unimpressed. And all it contained were the same generic bromides the right wing has been using for decades now, the nonspecific attacks and smears based in little more than fear.

The fact she would belittle community organizers in the manner she did and dare to say her experience was greater than that of Obama's was incredulous. The next time this quasi-jihadist, secessionist asshole is President of the Harvard Law Review, then she can compare herself to Obama.

She has lots of weaknesses that are there to be exploited and if she can be hammered relentlessly, they can force her into a gaffe. It's not even a full week since McCain gave her the nod and there is plenty of digging left to be done.

Now the campaign will sequester her away again to keep the media from exposing her woefully inept intellect. They will try protect her from the press she sought to pillory tonight. The Fourth Estate should be outraged and challenged by her remarks, not cowed as some will hope.

Yet, I'm still a bit afraid. I'm scared Dems will pull the usual act of riding the high road to defeat once more. While Obama himself might not want to get dirty, someone best "bring it" or the great American sea of dunces will once again fall for the same mudslinging tactics and Little Annie Oakley will walk into an office made scarily powerful by Dark Lord Cheney.

Ever since Thomas Jefferson first used unseemly tactics to great success against political rival John Adams, the very things we claim to decry, we support at the ballot. Modern Democrats need to learn what has been an axiom in the South for a long time: politics is a full contact sport.

And you can't effect change if you don't get in office.

Biden needs to nail this attack dog's hide to the barn door as she has so many sub-Arctic pelts. There needs to be no quarter given, no line uncrossed. Palin is a sociopath and will use every trick in the book, anything at her disposal to get what she wants. As I said before, she is terribly reminiscent of Greg Stillson, the crazed and ruthless politician in Stephen King's The Dead Zone who was fated to lead the world into fiery conflagration. She must be stopped.

1. I don't know, after reading comments on CNN's site, I think it might

actually be better if Obama/Biden don't overdo the tit-for-tat--the reviews were largely negative, and many people seemed turned off by the negativity and ridicule that took place tonight. I think substance and positivity and the high road might actually win this time.

When I listen to her I feel the same as I feel when I listen to Bush. She is an incurious self-centered bully of zero empathy, zero insight.
