2. And I get the impression that she isn't into her kids all that much.
The tabloid pics of her with the baby indicate distance, not a well-bonded mother-baby couple. If I was her MIL, I'd hate her too, just for that.

5. Bad first impression
I agree that she came across as angry, spiteful, caustic, mocking, condescending (am I missing anything here???) I think she overplayed it, and the voters will contrast that with Obama's class. For cryin' out loud, even the Huckster was respectful and somewhat classy in his remarks about Obama. She just came across as mean. That might appeal to repubs, but it won't go over well with independents who watched both conventions.
