The baptism began last night: Tonight PALIN will be declared A ROCK STAR!1
Yaas, from our ever predictable yammerers, Tweety, speaking for him and BUCHANAN ("we were both speechwriters"), said that THOMPSON and Joementum were smash hits with their speeches. What I saw was THOMPSON with a frog in his throat throughout and delivering the prose with all the life of a corpse, and Joementum betraying himself as the attention whore, telling Andrea MITCHELL that the "warm reception" from the Rethugs just made it all worthwhile for him.

Then they and their panel went on and on about how PALIN could swing either way, be a dud or a ROCK STAR tonight. Now, with speechwriters out for rent by the hordes and Tweety and BUCHANAN giving their expertise away for free for hours, what are the odds that a rabble rousing collection of WORDS by others can't be slung together for la Senora Gobernadora to deliver a la Speech Class 101?!1

Frankly, this campaign is a ZOO. I'm dizzy from whiplash, trying to keep up with who/when experience matters/doesn't, top matters/doesn't, and bottom matters/doesn't.

The bottom line is that if Shrub can occupy the space, ANYbody apparently can. And Shrub showed that being a governor ain't worth a bucket of warm piss in most states. One of Shrub's female cabinet members inadvertantly told the truth when she was asked yesterday how a mother with small children could also be VP or even prez. She said that she knew of other political wives with small children who said that their husbands' jobs were NOT THAT HARD and could be done by them in their spare time from tending families of multiples.

1. I agree. She starts with such low expectations, the MSM will be falling
at her feet tonight, amazed that a Rethug can actually speak coherently.

..whether it was given by a Republican or by a Democrat.

3. Fred Thompson was declared a "rock star" too. Look what happened with him.
You can be called a rock star, but you have to eventually live up to the hype.

5. PALIN
Its fun to blog about Palin, but is it constructive? If we
feed ourselves the negative information that is passed on from
source to source as it is amplified and expanded without a
serious examination of the facts, we run the risk of being
labeled as extremest and radicals. This, in turn, alienates
us from the moderate, undecided voters that we need to reach
and convert in order to win the election. It was bad enough
that Hillary had to drag out the primary election and
alienate many of the so called older white women. Obama needs
all women to vote for him. If we keep throwing mud at Palin
we risk much of that mud flying back in our faces. Lets go
after them without adding fuel to fire up their base. We
don't need to do that! Lift up Obama, don't tear down McCain.
They will fade away if they are ignored.

10. A serious examination of the facts?!?!?
Are you serious? The media has been feeding us whatever Palin hands to them with absolutely NO critical thought whatsoever. And now that we're noticing the cracks in the story, we're the ones who are playing fast and loose with the facts? She can put out this fire in MINUTES if she wanted to. But she doesn't because she's been engaged in one lie after another. She's been a proven liar on many issues that the media simply won't talk about and she's got many lies that have yet to be revealed. I won't be bullied into not talking about these lies from anyone.

12. I doubt it
Tweety has a problem with strong women. He saves his blushing, gushing adoration for the male of the political species.

16. "strong women"?? What's that got to do with Sarah Palin?
If there were ever a more inept individual without a single autonomous thought in their head running for national office ... other than Dan Quayle, perhaps ... I've yet to see it. She's gotten attention for her porn-star looks ... from beauty pageants to broadcasting to her "useful fool" role as mayor and governor.

She's an INSULT to 'strong' women.

17. I don't disagree with you, however
I am referring to Tweety's perception of what consitutes a strong woman. Big difference.

11. It's guaranteed she'll "exceed expectations" ... since they're lower even than Shrub's.
Edited on Wed Sep-03-08 11:24 AM by TahitiNut
The "expectations" are lower than even crotch level. This whole charade is an obscenity. It's lies piled on lies and antagonism on top of antagonism. It's divisive, sociopathic, and dismissive and demeaning to the democratic process. The GOP has taken us to new lows repeatedly over the last 8 years ... facilitated by 'establishment' politicians of all stripes.

Sarah Palin might as well display her vagina on live TV and then point to the issuance thereof. Her candidacy is totally targeted to prurient interests ... and an audience with virtually nothing but fucking on their minds ... whether it be about a fetus (fucking), teen-aged pregnancy (fucking), the librarian porn-star appeal (fucking), contraception (fucking), screwing over the Democrats (fucking), or McCain's "Fuck You" to the voters (fucking).

18. And no-one will point out that it's not "her" speech.
If anyone even gives an indication that this is a prepared speech written for her and not her own hand/voice I'll be utterly surprised.

And if the TV talking heads don't think she hasn't been rehearsed and rehearsed for hours on where to put the right inflection, when to smile, when to pause, then they don't belong on the air.

I'm not concerned about this speech and I won't watch it. Palin is a puppet geared to draw Hillary supporters to the McCain camp. If they're dumb enough to fall for it they deserve the karma that will come back and bite off their asses.
