Elderly man forced to divorce 82 of his wives
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/7591037.stm

..."I have not contravened any established law that would warrant my being banished from the land... There is no law that says one must not marry more than four wives,"...

"All my wives are with children and some of these are people I have married and stayed with for over 30 years. How can they expect me to leave them within two days?"...

Only four wives indeed! What is the world coming to?

But what is to become of the women, and the children?

1. In most situations like these...
...the women work and provide and some even live in their own homes.

5. Everyone lives together
... some of the wives 3 to a room - according to the article.

Who is he going to pick to stay. The ones who have been with him 30 years?

Where is everyone else going to go, what of the young children, where do they go? Who takes care of them?

6. They may have to leave the house but...
...again, people like this guy consider themselves gods and above working themselves. They don't work, they make the wives work in the fields, in the mines, digging through trash for stuff to sell while all they do is procreate. They are probably more capable of sustaining themselves and have probably been responsible for doing so more than their god-like husband.

2. Qur'an states no more than four wives but also says
that a man is responsible for the support of ALL his children, including those of divorced spouses.

3. If *I* had a husband with 82 other wives, I would have divorced *him* long ago!

4. amazing
"A man with 10 wives would collapse and die,"

Agreed.

"but my own power is given by Allah. That is why I have been able to control 86 of them"!

At the age of 84, no less! This guy could make a fortune selling his secret.
