Pawlenty cancels appearances

By LIZ SIDOTI, Associated Press Writer 12 minutes ago

DENVER - Republican presidential candidate John McCain decided on a running mate early Thursday, and one top prospect, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, abruptly canceled numerous public appearances.

The Arizona senator will appear with his No. 2 at an Ohio rally on Friday, aides said, though they provided no details on who McCain had picked.

Without explanation, Pawlenty called off an Associated Press interview at the last minute, as well as other media interviews in Denver, site of the Democratic National Convention.

2. Does this include his MTP appearance this Sunday?
I just saw it announced earlier today when Brokaw was on MSNBC.

3. That would work...
...not so well in McSame's favor. Hardly anybody knows who he is, he doesn't appear to have the kind of record that would boost McCranky in the polls, and to top it all off, he's a Republican! :wow:

On January 15, 2007, after being re-elected, Pawlenty said, "I am committed to serving out my term as governor. That's what I am going to do." You're right, you'll be serving out the rest of that term, Tim "1%" Pawlenty. Did you know that he only won his last Gubernatorial run by 1%!

8. And that only because the Independent candidates siphoned so many votes away from the Dem.

12. Wasn't he the governor when the bridge collapsed?
Wasn't that because of his failure to repair infrastructure?

Wow! The Republicans must be very afraid of losing Minnesota because of Al Franken's run.

7. You could read this either way.
If he didn't get picked, he's not going to want to do dozens of interviews to talk about not getting picked...

9. We as Dems should be delighted if McNumbNuts picks Pawlenty.
#1) No national experience. Nobody knows of him outside MN, and those of us in MN know him too well. (Note to DUers: in BOTH his elections, he won because two Dems split the majority vote. Pukelenty has never won a majority.)

#2) Joe Biden will beat him up, take his lunch money, and leave him tied to the monkey bars with an atomic wedgie in the VP debate. Pukelenty will wet his pants, guaranteed.
