Gustav and the GOP Convention
The signature moment symbolizing the totality of clusterfucks delivered by the predatory capitalists and war criminals aka Bushco was Hurricane Katrina.

As Bush and McCain gathered to cut cake then, they're about to gather to scream drill, drill, drill. As they scream drill, drill, drill this time, oil companies will be clearing their oil rigs as they prepare for a major Gulf of Mexico hurricane.

That nature chose the moment when Rethugs are about to gather serves as a poignant reminder of their abysmal failures and is beyond irony, although nature might have thought about the millions who nervously watch Gustav to see who will be hit. These people know that any prepations being made by the goons will be to see how to enrich themselves and their cronies as others suffer.

It will be interesting to see which of the GOM politicians will dare leave his/her state and head for the convention. Only one thing I'm sure of - Dobson wasn't praying for this mess on the eve of the Rethug convention. He was busy praying for a washout of the Democratic Convention.

Stay safe DUers!

1. well, I hope it fizzles out
No matter what Gustav's impact would be on the repig convention, the suffering and loss are just too high a price to pay. :(

2. We'd all like it to fizzle out but none of the forecasts
suggest that we will be that lucky.

3. I was afraid of that
well then, let's hope for minimum loss of life and suffering and maximum damage to the RNC then.
