chuck todd: Cue Carly Simon.
i expect the media to spend the next 2 days slamming the clintons......

from msnbc, here's chuck todd's unbiased sense of journalism :sarcasm:

Obama rolling the dice on Clintons

Beginning Tuesday night and extending at least midway through Wednesday, you'll have to forgive those of us in the media if you hear us humming the song "You're So Vain." The Clintons will probably think this convention's about them.

The Obama campaign truly is rolling the dice this week by giving the Clintons speaking slots on two separate nights.

Perhaps this was part of the deal with Hillary Clinton; Bill must not speak before her (he doesn't just like overshadowing opponents). But whatever the reason, the Clintons are already getting more deferential treatment by Barack Obama in this convention than the Clintons gave their opponents (or the Kennedys), or than George Bush gave John McCain in 2000. In fact, I'm struggling to find an example where a losing primary opponent got two nights of a convention.

2. I can't stand Chuck Todd
If I see him smug little face, I quickly change the channel or look away. And that facial hair does nothing for him.

3. She's the losing primary opponent
He is the ex-President.

The Obama campaign has done a horrible job at getting that point across. That's why the Ex-President is speaking on national security. To make this Party about more than mommy issues.

6. I really don't get it
I don't think I'm unusual in my "Clinton Weariness." Yes, there are those lunatics out there on the fringe - I just saw some woman named Harriett Christian on TV, an ardent Clinton supporter, who struck me as a complete madwoman - who, for whatever misguided reasons, still think they're going to get their candidate nominated, but they're living on the dark side of the moon.

Hillary Clinton lost. That's the irrefutable reality.

She stayed in the race only because she is wealthy enough to loan her campaign millions of dollars, which was a great testament to the fact that she's a bad manager, can't handle a campaign staff, and was lax in her hiring of incompetents who didn't keep her campaign afloat financially as well as Obama did.

I found it repugnant when she and her husband made those loans. It was just wrong.

Now, left with millions in campaign debt, a living testimony to how badly her campaign was run, these people - and the Clintons themselves - still think they should, somehow, matter. They are simply unable to understand that they had their time, and, like Carville and Begala, they are past their "sell by" date.

Good for Obama for giving them the podium two nights in a row, but I'll be damned if I'll watch them. They're just too embarrassing.

At the Super-Bowl, I want to see the LOSING TEAM get full press accounting..let's follow them home and interview their family about how they are handling the loss..

and at the party for the winners, before any of them get to uncork the champagne, I want the losers to be consoled, caressed, and kowtowed to.. and we need to HEAR from them.. let them bare their souls about how hurt they are..

we need speeches too..lots of them..for days..

oooh oooh.. and the winners have to re-imburse their travel expenses for the losers' WHOLE SEASON..

and ONLY after the losers have been sufficiently soothed, does the winning team get to claim their victory..

one more thing..

the losers get to try on the rings first..

and have a party with the winner's cheerleaders

and see the other teams' wives naked..

14. Obama comes from Chicago as we all know
and we also know that Chicago politics is not for the faint of heart or weak of stomach.

That being stated I am astounded that he has given her that much rope to use.

While I do not think at will blow up in his face, it remains more of a possibility than it should.

Left to me in his shoes and since I hold the hammer from a political point of view I would have dictated to her, her place and situation in the convention instead of letting her set the agenda.

The GOP if they are paying attention (and a dime to a dollar bets that they are) would use that some time in the next 2 months to indicate that if Obama cannot stand up to the Clinton's and run his own convention than he may be a less than stellar choice to sit at a table with Putin.

We shall see.

17. Hey Chuckie can you remember the last time the wife of a former president ran for president?
These right wing scum bags make me sick.

They prey on the weak minded because they know it works. Scum all of them.

18. He's right this time. Is this about change or not about change?
Why not have both on one night? Why drag this psychodrama out so long?
