Fox host: Madonna 'Dixie-chicked herself' with McCain attack
Madonna launched her new "Sticky and Sweet" tour over the weekend, and the hosts of Fox & Friends were falling all over themselves in coming up with novel ways to attack it.

"Isn't that disgusting?" began Fox's Brian Kilmeade. "Isn't that a disgusting thing to call a tour?"

"She gives total productions, right," Kilmeade continued cattily, "cause she doesn't have the best voice. ... She's washed up as a dancer, so she needs other people to focus on. So she also has video in the backdrop. And in the video has images of the slain John Lennon, Al Gore, and Mahatma Gandhi. And Barack Obama."

"Those are the positive images," commented Steve Doocy.

"The slain Lennon, a real pick-me-up," sneered Kilmeade.

"On the other side," said Gretchen Carlson, going on with the story, "she has Adolph Hitler, Robert Mugabe ... and John McCain. Uh-oh!"

"Immediately, the McCain camp out with a response," Carlson noted. "'It clearly shows that when it comes to supporting Barack Obama, his fellow worldwide celebrities refuse to consider any smear or attack off limits.'"

"I think she just Dixie-chicked herself," Doocy suggested. "Think about it! ... When you do a video and you show negative, scary, bad stuff and you show John McCain, anybody who likes John McCain's going to go, 'Eh. I don't like her. I'm not going to spend the $9.99 on iTunes to buy her latest DVD.'"

"Steve just coined a new word," Carlson pointed out, referring to Doocy's use of "Dixie-chick" as a verb.

"I get it. ... It's now a noun," concluded the apparently grammar-challenged Kilmeade.

2. Never have been a big Madonna fan
So I guess I have something in common with the McCain supporters who won't spend the money on the DVD. But who gives a rats ass what fox noise thinks? Madonna does have more talent in her little finger than any fox noise anchor could ever hope to have though.

3. The analogy would work if Madonna had been expecting heavy rotation
on country radio stations. I'm sure she wasn't.

5. They should rename that show "Stupid is as stupid does."
Poor Madonna. The Dixie Chicks were just ruined after they spoke out about W. :sarcasm:

As a side note, every time I hear the name of that show it reminds of Fassbinder's very dark film "Fox & his Friends."

7. Is Madonna still here?
Her career so jumped the shark ages ago.

This post is less about (or even not at all about) her jibes at McCain, but on the fact that she just needs to stay home and keep working on that British accent she's been trying to cop.

9. Fox Bullshit -Most I know didn't even know Madonna was on tour until the Fox republican news network
Edited on Tue Aug-26-08 11:34 AM by GreenTea
went frantically nuts....like the Dixie Chicks this can only help Madonna's tour...the more publicity the better, for any controversial figure especially Madonna!

Madonna should send Fox a nice thank you note for Fox' ridiculous partisanship & paranoia....Think I'll buy her new album now....and I never bought a Madonna album in my life....same with the Dixie Chicks never knew who they were until the idiot republicans & Fox news got their little minds involved and I bought the DC albums as well.

11. Quick, grab the smelling salts!
"Isn't that disgusting?" began Fox's Brian Kilmeade. "Isn't that a disgusting thing to call a tour?"

Well, her current cd is called "Hard Candy", so "Sticky and Sweet" does fit for a tour name.

Merciful heavens, Mr. Kilmeade is a little sensitive. Some one should show him Madonna's book, "Sex". That'll get his panties in a bunch.

18. They should change their name
from Fox and Friends to "Idiots and Morons on the Air."

Kilmeade and Duce have to be two of the dumbest people on the air today.
