I doubt any assassin is going to walk right into a hotel and carry in his rifles all obvious like.

Take down rifles that break down into smaller parts that can fit inconspicuously into regular no descript luggage is more likely if it were to happen.

who was arrested while checking into his hotel, cause it that case it doesnt sound like any crime was committed.
