Poll question: Why are Americans suffering?
I watched Bill Moyer's last Friday on PBS and his stories of middle class folks in Denver should be mentioned at the Democratic Convention. The Fat Cats will wine and dine in sky boxes and watch the show they paid for while the middle class folks who lost their jobs and are using food banks to get by are left out wondering: where is my job, my affordable housing, my COUNTRY?

Oh, and why are so many of my Constitutional rights abridged?

2. the greed and hubris applies to the entire population at large, correct...?
everyone has been guilty of trying to 'keep up with the jonses' in one way or another, and feeling entitled to the quality/way of life that we've been made to expect.
as a country as a whole- we've been living way above our collective means for too long, and the bill is coming due.

3. Yes and a convention sponsored by CORPORATIONS!
Of course there is payback later for the goodie bags. EVERYTHING that is wrong with this country can be laid at the feet of corporate American and their Democratic and Republican enablers. EVERY SINGLE THING! and here we have a major political party throwing itself a party funded by major corporate backers. That is so fucking wrong. It's just wrong. And I for one will not be surprised when Obama fails to deliver any meaningful change.

5. We little people don't matter, huh?
Free Speech Cages?
And Zones?

Where in the Constitution of these United States of America does it say that American citizens should not be given their rights to freely associate and question the Government they elected?

7. Shock Doctrine scared 'em good
Edited on Mon Aug-25-08 11:40 PM by Ripley
I just received an absurd email from my HOA. I could scream for ever.

Okay I'm gonna edit this and show you what they sent me:

GET YOUR FLAG READY!

Please join us in this FLY THE FLAG campaign and PLEASE forward this Email immediately to everyone in your address book asking them to also forward it. We have around two weeks and counting to get the word out all across this great land and into every community in the United States of America .

If you forward this email to least 11 people and each of those people do the same ... you get the idea.

THE PROGRAM:

On Thursday, September 11th, 2008 , an American flag should be displayed

out side every home, apartment, office, and store in the United States .

Every individual should make it their duty to display an American flag

on this seventh anniversary of one our country's worst tragedies. We do

this honor of those who lost their lives on 9/11, their families,

friends and loved ones who continue to endure the pain, and those who

today are fighting at home and abroad to preserve our cherished

freedoms.

In the days, weeks and months following 9/11, our country was bathed in

American flags as citizens mourned the incredible losses and stood

shoulder-to-shoulder against terrorism Sadly, those flags have all but

disappeared. Our patriotism pulled us through some tough times and it

shouldn't take another attack to galvanize us in solidarity. Our American flag is the

fabric of our country and together we can prevail over terrorism of all kinds

Action Plan:

So, here's what we need you to do ...

(1) Forward this email to everyone you know (at least 11 people). Please

don't be the one to break this chain. Take a moment to think back to how

you felt on 9/11 and let those sentiments guide you.

(2) Fly an American flag of any size on 9/11. Honestly, Americans should

fly the flag year -round, but if you don't, then at least make it a

priority on this day.

Thank you for your participation.

God Bless You and....

God Bless America !

I think they are ignorant nutzoids for the most part.
