And was rewarded w/a slam from the Republican. It's a lesson, don't be reasonable with Republicans, Obama! They'll just turn & stab you in the back.

22. She's a blue dog.
She's my senator, and has voted more often than not to support the neocon agenda. She has been a major disappointment, and when she's up for re-election, I will vote against her.

now - not so much.

Since she's your senator, I'm not as bummed as you are, probably, but I am definately bummed -

She could call out Warren for being a lying snake and spend the rest
of her term fighting off dumb asses or she can play it smart and pick
her battles.

11. Politics is the art of the real
Warren & McCain both showed that they were lying in that stupid "dog & pony
show" but some people have all their ego rapped up in being a Christian and
to call out Warren now would be a mistake. Give em time both of them will
die of self inflected wounds.

BTW It pisses me off too ... having to go and pass "a God test." :puke:

And, I'd like to know why Warren's church doesn't have its tax exempt status yanked.

20. What's your point?
Are you saying that if one part of the Constitution has been ignored and no one has done anything, it's okay to ignore other parts as well?

21. Sorry!
2 points

1) sadly many parts of the Constitution have been ignored and broken over the past 8 years

b) We are nowhere near the point when a man or women running for President can stand up
and say ... "I don't believe in God."

26. True on both points
and I don't expect anyone to admit to your 2nd point and I know Obama would not have dared opt out of this, but he should have mentioned that the framers quite clearly (unlike other parts of the document that are open to interpretation) said that there should be no religious test for office - he could have done it at the end of the farce, just so it got said.

I can't think of any point in U.S. history where religion has mixed with politics the insidious way it does now - JFK was pretty much able to take care of the "religious problem" he had with one speech. Perhaps it is the result of the dumbing down of the population.

30. Obama should have skipped it.
Even though he is a man of real faith and family values he will not
get the right wing fundy vote, period.

It pissed me off to see such a good man have to go in front of that
crowd to be judged and pass some sort of God test. If these people
were real Christians they would judge Obama on his good deeds for
his fellow man and reject a man who offers his wife for a biker "sex
show."

BTW My Uncle was a Rector in an Episcopal Church in S.W. Ohio and
he and his wife worked 45+ years trying to help the lives of the people
who lived there .... these mega Church con men really bothered him.

32. Oh, I agree that he should have skipped it -
but, of the things he's caved on, I can understand this better than some of the others, given that there's so many neocon "Christians" that keep insisting he's a Muslim (not that it should matter if he was). If he hadn't shown up the MSM would have gone nuts over it and before they were done we would have had people who were convinced that Obama had personally nailed Jesus to the cross.

33. My Letter My Response.
I dropped off this letter to the Editor today. I have made many contacts in my community and many believe Obama is a Muslim. The faith-based churches are recieving funding..period. The Republican army is going to sell good-intentioned people the same bull the have all along....Here is my letter to our community.

Dear Editor,

It is no secret that most xxxx and the smaller surrounding town folk want to do the right thing, the Christian thing. We are a typical rural community that seeks to do good, however, politics seems to finds it’s way into our good intentions and with this being the most important election of my lifetime, I am determined to get to the truths of matters.
We all pulled together after 9/11, George Bushs’ popularity skyrocketed. Most Americans were all on the same team, few knew the truth and were labeled as being non-christian or unpatriotic. Now we have all come to find out that Iraq had no WMD, we entered a country going against the Geneva conventions signed after WWII. We were duped. An independent group, the Center for Public Integrity have disclosed at least 935 lies had taken place preceding the war in Iraq. Our honorable men and women are now serving in a war that should have never been, and the US deficit continues to throw us further into debt, with no end in site. Many people, millions have lost their homes, they were duped. Corporations continue to go overseas, leaving American workers behind in droves. The prices of gasoline and food items continue to climb as record profits for the corporations continue to climb at our expense. I have notice the pre-election drop of the gas prices, I scoff at the belief this is a permanent drop, to me it just tells me kind of power and control the corporations have over us. This self appointed corporate world that has a stranglehold over American politics and the current administration that continues to enable them, together have formed a tight bond. Their deceit amongst good Christian people, and the public at large continues. The divide of the rich and powerful and the poor and powerless continues to grow as the middle class is etched out of existence. The Constitution has been called “just a *&^ piece of paper” by our Commander in Chief, President Bush.
Now the rumor of Senator Obama being a Muslim is spreading like wild fire here in our Christian community, and being the good Christians we want to be, we are aghast at this idea. The swiftboaters are striking again, initiating fear and smear and entering our core being. Al Gore gone, John Kerry gone. So here we go, why not it has worked before, why not give it another shot? I have heard it said fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Will this be true for us again? If so, we get what we deserve, and we cannot claim hindsight is 20/20 anymore. We can’t afford it.
Let me just say, Senator Obama was actually sworn into the senate with his hand on the bible, as all senators are, with his wife and VP Dick Cheney standing at his side. Senator Obama is a Christian man and always has been. Lets not be fooled anymore. Lets not make judgments and decisions based out of fear, deceit and malice. Lets be the Christians we claim to be and make informed intelligent decisions based on truth, God did give us a brain.

10. McCaskill is a sellout
She's been eating at the Bush trough for 2 years now. We got suckered into voting for her cause she vowed to stand up to Pres. Bush and all the corruption in Washington (literally that's the only reason she won) and now she's voting with the Repubes on everything. You've got to know she's getting money on the side from everybody. That's her way.

I'm definitely a democrat but I already emailed her telling her she's losing my vote the next time she runs. I don't care if it's Popeye, I'm voting against her.

28. Yes...what both of you said
Really, I hate McCaskill. Her hubby made millions on nursing homes here in Missouri when she was the MO state auditor and she failed to report findings of malpractice and stuff, here is a bit from Wiki -

"Shepard loaned $1.6 million to McCaskill's 2004 gubernatorial campaign and also had business interests in the nursing home industry. Because as state auditor McCaskill was responsible for auditing the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, which regulates the state's nursing home system, Shepard's financial interests in the industry became an issue during the 2004 gubernatorial campaign."

but he ended up with like $5 million because she discovered lots of stuff about him and didn't tell anyone or something. She really is nothing more than an ATM to special interests.

So it was hard me voting for her for Senate. Now I just consider all those who aren't standing up to the Bushies to be accomplices. Oh well.

14. Meanwhile the prick from the McCain campaign is using every opportunity to attack Obama
I had to walk away from the TV. These are the same bullshit tactics that the Bush campaign uses because McCain is using the same bullshit artists Bush uses. When the hell will the Democrats wake up?

I remember the Democratic party back when they knew how to take the fight to the Republicans. Where have those Democrats gone? Now all we can rely on are idiots like Nancy Pelosi who let Bush and Cheney off the hook even as the Republicans continue to impede any Democratic legislation and stay on the attack.

Does the Democratic Party realize that while they're trying to take the high road the majority of Americans are continuing to react favorably to these low road Republican tactics?

29. I agree..
... Obama better learn how to fight back, (or more correctly just do so, he knows how) or this election is going to slip away.

Americans just want entertainment, they don't care about the facts. A dirty fight is entertaining, and it gets votes.

Obama better get entertaining quick.
