I laughed out loud in church Sunday - Got Hope

We broke down and went to church Sunday. We had not been for a while. But it was worth the laugh. The name of the church we regularly attend has the name Hope in it.

This church is not completely right wing but those who are right wing funndies stand out by making themselves known. They tend to traverse the members and proclaim that if you are a Christian, you must also be Republicon. One of them told one of my daughters that once, they laughed in their face. I have witnessed many a conversation they have had with other members.
The all seem to know better than to approach me.

Funny thing is their kids are not all practicing what mom and dad are preaching, I saw one of them working at a local Obama event. I had to commend him on having his own mind.

Anyway back to Sunday; I was sitting in church service as the minister who remains politically neutral among all this was reading the notices for the week. One of them was that they were changing the name of one of their programs because it really didn't connect with some of the members.

The name of the program was "Got Hope", the new name is "Hope Vision."

At this point I am cracking up and my wife is punching me in the arm asking what was so funny. I said I imagine that those who could no longer connect with Got Hope also would like to see the name of the church changed about now.
