Future Headlines ...
Edited on Mon Aug-18-08 12:14 AM by NanceGreggs
... and related stories we'd all like to see:

Balding Panhandler Identified as Former Political Big-Wig
“A filthy, flea-infested beggar, who, along with his famous tin cup, has long been a fixture on the corner of 52nd and Broadway, was positively identified today as a former GOP ‘strategist’ who apparently fell on hard times …”

Another BushCo Associate Arrested
“Joining the ranks of several hundred other former Bush administration officials facing prosecution, yet another ‘insider’ was read his Miranda rights earlier today before being led off in handcuffs …”

Former Billionaire Dies Penniless and Alone
“In a shocking end to what was once touted as an American success story, police were called to remove the body of a once prominent and wealthy Republican operative from a flop-house in L.A. this weekend. ‘He’d been dead for weeks,’ said an officer on the scene. ‘You’d think somebody somewhere would have cared enough about him to have realized he needed help. Apparently no one did.’”

Yet Another Former Bush Admin Member Facing Charges of Treason
“There was a time when being charged with treason against the United States was headline news. But since investigations into the Bush presidency were launched, it’s just another story too common to rate anything more than a mention on the bottom-screen crawl of most TV news networks …”

Gitmo Overcrowding a Growing Concern
“The decision to house Republicans awaiting trial (for crimes ranging from treason to tax evasion committed between 2001 and 2008) at the once-infamous Guantanamo facility is now causing the government a headache of mammoth proportions. ‘They told us a couple of hundred, tops,’ said an anonymous source in the processing department. ‘But we’re seeing that many come in per day. I don’t know where we’re supposed to put them all.’”

Hague Trials Continue Unabated
“A series of war crime trials of former US officials entered its fifth year this morning, with no end in sight …”

Justice Delayed – But Not Denied!
“Former CIA operative, Valerie Plame Wilson, was awarded $3,000,000,000 just moments ago in a precedent-setting case that named former US President Bush and former VP Cheney as defendants. One of the defense lawyers (who spoke on the basis of anonymity due to concerns about her ability to secure clients in future) tearfully told reporters that both men would undoubtedly be financially wiped-out as a result of the ruling.”

Anniversary ‘Laugh-In’ Acclaimed as International Success
“Last evening’s televised event celebrating the anniversary of the demise of the G.W. Bush presidency, which featured standup comics from around the globe repeating Bush’s actual quotes, was an unmitigated success. While the numbers have not yet been officially tabulated, viewership is estimated to have broken all standing records for any previously televised event.”

Latest Tell-All Book About Bush Years Still Searching for Publisher
“Having been completely saturated with drafts of proposed books claiming to disclose first-hand accounts of the crimes of the Bush administration, US publishers have finally had enough. ‘Sure, there was a time we would have paid big bucks for this kind of thing,’ said the senior editor at one well-known NY publishing firm. ‘But since the trials started, this is all public knowledge. I mean, who wants to lay out money for shit that everybody and his mother already knows?’”

President Remains Unmoved
“As a result of what many are calling overwhelming pressure from the citizenry, the President somberly announced this morning that he will not be issuing pardons for former Bush administration members. Sentences ranging from firing-squad executions for those found guilty of treason, to lesser penalties of life-long incarceration without the possibility of parole, will now be carried out as ordered by presiding justices …”

Don't email it. Emails pertaining to the misdeeds of this administration have a nasty habit of going missing, you know. Try registered mail...and demand a receipt.

5. Breaking News: Dead horse being beaten still dead!
In yet another example of driving home a single point to the point where the nail not only is driven beneath the surface, but the hammer has broken through the board, another Nance Gregg post continues to make the same point over and over. "It's a rationing thing," Ms. Gregg explains. "I have a limit of one point per column, so I have to wear it to sickly shreds before I can pull another point from my Point Bin."

"We retain hopes that Ms. Gregg will feel confident enough to make more than one point per column," says noted authority Armand Avagadro Flyback, "for when that happens, it will only be a short time that she begins to add observations to her posts."

Seriously, this kind of wish fulfillment is pointless (no pun intended), considering that there's still plenty of time for the Democrats to commit seppuku, as they've done in so many previous elections. The fact that people are planning to protest at the Denver convention - who steadfastly insist they are NOT Republican operatives but "progressives" - pretty much assures that the Party will self-destruct again.

8. Not so pointless, apparently, that you didn't see fit to toss almost 200 words at it.
And your pyrotechnic critical skills would be better served if you could learn to spell the writer's name correctly. But of course you must be pretty busy with your Democratic Party suicide watch and all...

11. Yes, no doubt those eleven PUMAs ...
... will ruin the Dem's chances in November.

And I can't resist saying this: The "s" at the end of "NanceGreggs" does not denote (a) a plural, as in a collective of Nances, or (b) a possessive term, implying my name is "Gregg" and my posts are "Gregg's" posts.

Now that we (hopefully) have that sorted out, the point of of your reply would be - exactly what? Sorry for saying so, but it seems to make only one point per your response, and I'm given to understand that is, according to you, a poor and unacceptable form for stating an opinion.

All I can say is that my new group is a much more fun bunch of people.

15. I love it! But you left out a couple of things...
such as...

The massive anti-GOP lynch mob that pulled Rush Limbaugh out of his
office studio and drew and quartered him with 4 SUVs in the street below.

The anti-GOP mob that grabbed Shawn Hannity before he could climb into his Mercedes,
tried to tar & feather him, couldn't locate any tar and feathers, so they went to an
Office Depot and...You can guess the rest.

I'm sure there were more...

Aside from the possiblility of a Laugh-In Anniversary show, I don't see any of those things happening.

Democrats will prefer to say "that's water under the bridge" or "le's let by-gones be by-gones".

Edit: Maybe the Valerie Plame will get an award too....followed by a decade of appeals when the award will be lowered to $300,000.

34. Homeless and Veterans Continue to Occupy CEO Estates
Edited on Mon Aug-18-08 03:14 PM by NBachers
The growing trend of veterans and homeless families taking over abandoned CEO estates continues. Union membership has continued to rise since filibuster-proof Democrats passed the Employee Free Choice Act (H.R. 800, S. 1041) in 2009. Corporations have been forced to equalize pay between formerly high-flying executives, and rank-and-file employees. As a result, many CEO's and executives have been forced to abandon their extravagant luxury estates. But the plight of these homeless CEO's has become an opportunity for many, formerly displaced, citizens. They are taking up residence in the empty villas and transforming them into cooperative living environments. Gardening, classes, therapy, and childcare are replacing reclusive wealth and swank parties. The formerly gated communities are now created opportunities for those who were kicked through the cracks of the Republican predator era.

42. CUTE, BUT...
we are up against some serious criminals here that have gotten a free pass on everything - the democratic party WILL NOT EVEN TAKE MEANINGFUL ACTION WHEN ONE OF THEIR OWN IS RAILROADED INTO PRISON.

They will not take action even though rove skipped out on a subpoena - they will not enforce bolton's or mier's subpoenas either, even though a court has affirmed that they have a right to issue them.

I don't speak for anyone else, but am extremely offended that the DEMOCRATIC PARTY has enabled treason, war crimes, and crimes against humanity even thought they ran in 2006 as "providing accountability".

Just another shame - they are also responsible for everthing that has happened, including TELECOM IMMUNITY - the 4th amendment is now null-and-void.

Nothing in the last 2 years suggests we will see any meaningful change so I cannot laugh at your jokes. Please understand, I am not saying they are wrong or bad - obviously some enjoy this post.

If you think we are going to see anyone held accountable (an assumption that seems to be implied in your "funnies"), you are not paying attention.
