Edited on Sun Aug-17-08 07:20 AM by NNN0LHI
Ask yourself how many photos have you seen of the refugee camps full of 4 million Iraqis that Bush created with the help of Georgia's thuggish troops on CNN?

3. Iraq? Iraq?? So yesterday.
I hear you, Don. So many wars, so little time to actually cover them, especially one we've had such a heavy hand in messing up.

5. The Fawning Corporate Media are unable
to even see let alone understand their breath-taking hypocrisy. The good news is that viewers have seen right though their naked propaganda. In a word whatever Bushco does is good, whatever anyone else does is evil. They are depraved fascists.

6. This Is A "Drive By War"
Both sides want pictures on the teevee...and reporters are given access to the war zones. It's a short car ride from Tblisi to Gori and this is as much a propaganda war as a shooting one.

Iraq is a dirty war...hidden from view by heavy restriction on any media coverage. Reporters rarely travel outside the safe cocoon of their Baghdad hotels unless they're embedded with a military force and then at the whim and whimsey of the Pentagon on what they see and report. There is no media in Syria (where many of the refugees have gone) and the corporate media has long decided we don't want to see this dirty war...outta sight, outta mind...and plays into the GOOP talking points of how we are "winning".

8. "Refugees pour over Russian border"
http://www.smh.com.au/news/world/refugees-pour-over-russian-border/2008/08/11/1218306776039.html
REFUGEES continued to pour out of South Ossetia yesterday, risking snipers, aerial bombardment and tanks to reach safety across the border.

In Vladikavkaz, the capital of the neighbouring Russian region of North Ossetia, refugees crowded on to buses, to be dispatched to hotels and sanatoriums on the Black Sea coast.

Among them were women holding infants, and children and pensioners in night clothes who had fled as Georgian troops entered their villages. Many had travelled hours across rocky roads through the mountains to escape the war.

Alisa Mamiyeva, 26, a teacher at Tskhinvali's arts lyceum, said: "I came in the boot of a car. Georgian snipers were firing at us from the forest. I heard the bullets hitting the chassis.

9. Faux News' Sheppard Smith while interviewing the 12-year old American girl who was in Georgia
when the fighting started, kept expressing amazement that this was happening to a 12-year old.

This is the kind of shit that drives me nuts. Our blind, deaf and dumb media types cannot grasp the concept that the horrors of war are equally devastating to 12-year olds of ANY NATIONALITY. But American kids having to be subjected to that kind of stuff is over the top; whereas, Iraqis or Iranians NOT SO MUCH.

Disgusting.
