We must show the world, that we, as a nation, will never allow this to happen again.

On November 4th, 2008, a new President of the United States will be elected.

Or, at least, SHOULD be elected.

Hopefully it will be the Democratic candidate, Barack Obama.

And, assuming that will be the outcome, on January 20th, 2009, President-Elect Obama will become the 44th President of the United States of America.

One of the first items on the agenda, for the new administration, MUST be to right all of the wrongs that our nation has committed in the previous eight years.

In particular, they must resurrect our good standing with the nations of the world, a standing of respect, and honor, that our nation spent 2224 years (1776 - 2000) building up, only to see it torn down in a mere eight.

And, the first thing that must be done, above all else, is to show the world that we as a nation will not allow an administration, any administration, tear down what we have built including the desecration of our own Constitution.

We will show the world that we will not tolerate what laws they have broken, both here at home, and in the international theater.

We will gather the evidence, we will try these lawbreakers and we will punish them to the maximum that our laws permit, including legal execution if so deemed.

There have been many crimes that these perpetrators have, allegedly, committed, many of which has caused a magnitude of death and destruction around the globe and not just to Americans but to citizens of other nations, sovereign nations, and that can not under any circumstance be allowed to go unpunished.

The big question,of course, is whether, or not, the new administration, if it is democratic, has the gumption, the guts and the spine, to do, what by all the rights of civility has to be done.

It is not an easy thing for a nation, any nation, to take their dirty laundry and hang it out to dry.

It can be am embarrassment. But this time it is different. This is something that must be done.

By exposing these, alleged, criminals to the world, exposing the crimes that they have perpetrated on our nation, on the world, will at first be an embarrassing moment. It will expose our nation to the world for allowing it to happen, but in the end, with the evidence presented, and hopefully, the legal conviction and legal sentencing, we can turn that embarrassment into respect, respect that we once had and a respect that has been destroyed by the current administration.

We must act swiftly. We must take it upon ourselves,as one nation, united in such a way as never seen before. For if we do not, then our nation will never, regain those 224 years and we will forever be remembered as the nation of the past eight.

If the election goes as I hope it does, we will be presented with an opportunity to do something big, something that will make us proud, in the end.

If we fail to act, then it will happen again, in our future.

We must act now to ensure that it never, never happens again.

1. I just don't know how to convince every Blackwater blackboot and
every military soldier not to support the Evil Empire. Get them to turn and the world is open to hope.

2. It worries me that the polls are so close.........
I hear a bunch of folks, on either side of the political coin, say that they are ready for change. But then I see these depressing poll numbers and I wonder who is being surveyed?

I have a sneaky(hopefully dead wrong!)suspicion that we may be in for another sliming.

Good post, BTW.

3. The World Would Be Much More Impressed If BushCo Was Stopped, Period
They don't think much of the plan to let the clock run out. After all, these are criminals, free to continue to commit crime on an international scale, and Congress doesn't say BOO? An election can't begin to fix this "problem".

4. An election changes everything
An election DOES change things because as it is now, a sitting president can NOT be prosecuted, but once he is out of office, he can then be charged, arrested and legally tried and convicted.

IMO he should be arrested, right on the podium, the moment Obama says "I DO" on January 20th.

And there is plenty of time to do that before the inauguration.

And, the evidence is there. It just needs concerted effort to put it all together.

Then, with a new Attorney General, he could issue an order for the justice department to issue warrants. If not, the congress could issue a congressional warrant and have the Sergeant of Arms perform the arrest(s).

It is not really as difficult as some would make it seem. All that is needed is the balls to go through with it.

7. The Attorney General Appointment Comes AFTER the Inauguration
and the Senate must ratify the nominee. After that, there will have to be a massive purge of the Dept. of Justice, at which point some sane and ethical people can come in and start working.

There could be action by Tax Day, IF it's the priority, and nothing else has blown up in the interim.
That alone is very unlikely.

Steering the Ship of State is as difficult as an oil tanker. It takes a lot of planning in advance and a lot of energy to change direction, because of the massive size.

What BushCo did was not merely hijack that Ship, they also ran it aground and stripped it, and set out in their Swiftboats trying to run around the Constitution.

Picking off the Swiftboats won't be hard, but getting that Ship afloat will take dedication, expertise, and lots of work and money.

I hope nobody's in a hurry, because they're liable to be very frustrated.

8. Well, it took you enough words to say it. But, lengthy or not, I agree
with your post.
