Jenna Bush Writes First Book: 'Margaritas I've Known: A Memoir'
Mar 6th 2007 1:00PM | Filed under: U.S. News, Politics

HarperCollins Publishers announced today that it will release a title from the President's hard-partying daughter, Jenna Bush. The book will recount some of Jenna's favorite margaritas she's enjoyed throughout her father's presidency.

Following are some exclusive excerpts of the book...

"There are two kinds of people in this world. Those who want salt on the rim, and those who don't. For those who like salt on the rim, I think they prefer a - I don't know how else to say it- more salty taste."

"Patron tequila is so smooth that I don't mind that it forces a good ol' fashioned involuntary closing of my brain."

"One time in Austin, I had the pleasure of downing a jumbo three-lime margarita – one where they line up the limes on the side of the glass. I talked to it all night, shared my secrets, told it a few jokes; let it choose a few songs for the jukebox. At the end of the night, I fell to the floor and couldn't get up. It was then I realized, that was a one-lime margarita. The next day I found out the hard way that I'd eaten the other two."

1. That's exactly what I would expect Jenna to write about.
It's right up her alley.

2. If Jenna has done something good
then for the love of god support her in it. It's stupid to alienate people and contribute to the animosity in this country. We could actually win a lot of people to a reasonable position on global poverty issues with this book - but nooooo, the exact same liberals who say they care so so so much would rather get a few laughs than save lives.

5. I love DU and I have been here for years but the treatment of the Bush twins here is disgusting
for the most part. After years of hearing the right wing mock and attack Chelsea Clinton I thought that our side would have done better.

I will admit that to me this issue is rather personal I know Babs and I have met Jenna on a few occasions and neither of them deserve the treatment that they get here (Jenna used to be a member.)

I have seen posters suggesting that Jenna should go fight in Iraq instead of giving medical aid to the poor in third world countries as a member of UNICEF. I think we should leave disgusting trash comments like that to Rush. I thought that we wanted to bring the troops home, not send more people over there and shoot what she is doing is a good thing and she isn't in it for the sweet hours, big money, and stress free environment. It is like people on this board don't even care to know what UNICEF is and what Jenna is doing everyday, maybe we should read her book instead of mock it.
