1. Jimmy, you're a decent human being.
The Edward's have been through a lot with the loss of their child, Elizabeth's cancer, and the election 'loss' in 2004. I won't be judging them.

13. Thank you
And I really think Elizabeth doesn't need self-righteous soap boxers commenting on another painful event.
I have a saying
"Blessed are the self-righteous for they shall inherit the gripes."

2. I second that..........
This is insane, and it's old news.

The man has flaws. Big deal. Those flaws were flaws of a man who is still head and shoulders above most of us. He had a fine platform, he is intelligent, and he cares. The rest of it isn't my business.

3. Are you freaking NUTS?
"The man has flaws. Big deal. Those flaws were flaws of a man who is still head and shoulders above most of us."

His campaign funded this affair with a woman who was paid over $100,000.

And you condone him cheating on Elizabeth and she apparently also approves. This is GD BS.

In this Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008, file photo, Democratic presidential hopeful former Sen. John Edwards, D-N.C., right, and his wife Elizabeth arrive at a campaign rally in Ames, Iowa.

8. Correct. I worded that terribly.
What I meant was that Elizabeth doesn't deserve any of this shit. Yet she still seems to stand behind him just like Hillary did.

He confessed to her and apparently she forgave him in 2006.

Here we are in 2008.

If she still stands behind him, I sure don't get it.

11. I don't know what I would have done in the same situation...
However; Elizabeth might be thinking more into the future, rather than the past, or even the present. Unless something else comes along, breast cancer is going to kill her. Her doctors have no doubt given her an idea as to how much time she has left.

I am sure that she must have been crushed when she found out about the affair. Perhaps they chose not to share that with the younger children. Now, with all the dirty linen being aired, they will know it.

Having a mother fighting to live is enough of a burden for a kid to bear, without kicking dad out on his ass to add to their insecurity.

And, this is not the average American family, so it becomes even more complicated. None of us can know exactly what is going on between them in private. She says she has forgiven him, and I take her at her word.

Maybe I see it differently because I have had breast cancer too. I am not condoning what John did, but I do understand why Elizabeth is handling it this way.

5. For the tabloid bitties out there
Get some sleep. This will pass. John and Elizabeth are good human beings, let them deal with this issue in private.

7. People need to realize that this is none of our business.
It's a private matter, not public.

10. Of course it's public business.
His campaign donor money paid her over $100,000.

9. I think she dumped DU.
CNN just showed an excerpt of a post that she made from Daily Kos.
