Edwards didn't forge documents that started a war.

4. Begala is on the money there.
We won't be paying for Edwards' affair until our great grandkids are old and gray. We're not paying $4.00 per gallon for gas because Edwards had an affair. Over 4,000 U.S soldiers and 100's of thousands of Iraqis aren't dead because Edwards had an affair.

5. Good one. Tie the forgery to the tail of the scandal.
If the media *has* to jump all over this (and the people *have* to pay drooling attention), might as well try to get some good out of it.

6. Begala is good at the knock down and placing focus where it belongs.
This is one of his better ones.

8. In a rational world, of course that would be the emphasis.
But in a rational world, Bush would be getting his lunch through a slot in a door just about now. Face it, people aren't particularly rational.

9. But only a few women have a son in Iraq and almost every one---
do I need to go on. It is the local thing they always talk about. A cheating husband will hit a lot more people very near to home than a man in a uniform that hardly any one knows. When every one may have a brother or son drafted, lying to start a way would have seemed bad. Hardly in in the same class as cheating partners. Oh top of that when these men sort of carry their Bible around all the time it makes it seem so cheap.
