Gerald Ford was an FBI snitch on the Warren Commission.
Edited on Fri Aug-08-08 09:55 AM by kpete
Exclusive: Gerald Ford, JFK and the FBI

.......................

Although it has long been known that he secretly spoke with the FBI, the newly obtained, previously classified records detail one visit Ford made to one of Hoover's deputies just three weeks after joining the panel.

A December 1963 memo recounts that Ford told FBI Assistant Director Cartha D. DeLoach that two members remained unconvinced that Kennedy had been shot from the sixth floor window of the Texas Book Depository. In addition, three commission members "failed to understand" the trajectory of the slugs, Ford said.

Ford told DeLoach that commission discussions would continue and reassured him that those minority points of view on the commission "of course would represent no problem," one internal FBI memo shows. The memo does not name the members involved and does not elaborate on what Ford meant by "no problem."

.............................

Another memo in the file, previously released with Warren Commission materials in 1978, details how Ford approached DeLoach in 1963 and offered to secretly inform the bureau about the inner workings of the then-ongoing Warren Commission investigation. "Ford indicated he would keep me thoroughly advised as to the activities of the Commission," DeLoach wrote. "He stated this would have to be done on a confidential basis, however he thought it should be done."

1. That's why he was rewarded with the presidency.
He was GHW Bush's fixer in the Warren Commission.

3. What? Congenial Jerry Ford? Bumbling, good-natured
Edited on Fri Aug-08-08 10:13 AM by NCevilDUer
everybody likes him Jerry Ford?

Just because Chevy Chase made him look like a buffoon on SNL it doesn't mean he really was one. A powerful and dangerous man who was our first peek "behind the curtain" with the collapse of the Nixon administration - he was a power player who stepped into the spotlight while Nixon and his cronies took the fall for him and his ilk.

I was SOOO pissed at people here lauding him as a "good guy" when he was directly responsible for what we face today. Rumsfeld and Cheney came out of his administration, along with dozens of other neocons; his pardon of Nixon established the precedent of how to avoid impeachment and its consequences; he was a fundamental part of hiding the truth behind the Kennedy assassination.

He is everything that is wrong with the republican party.

16. I thought Rumsfeld and Cheney
Came out of the Nixon administration.

Ford then boosted their evil by pardoning Nixon, showing that even if you get caught you can go unpunished.

Ford is also responsible for the ludicrous "magic bullet" theory.

One of history's unsung evil bastards.

6. Slimy. And Gerald Ford was considered the honest Republican.
And Fred Thompson served on the other commission, the Nixon commission? Is it a wonder we can never get down to the truth of things.

10. Not surprised, and certain he wasn't the only one.
The warren Commission was a bigger joke than the 9-11 Commission. Both were designed to cover up any government involvement.
