Ohio sues Diebold over screwed up elections
As you know, Diebold changed it's name to Premiere. I guess like the Republicans, their brand is damaged. The machines did not work as advertised.

The move comes fewer than 90 days before Ohio voters go to the polls in an election that could decide the presidential race, but Brunner says safeguards will be in place by then in the affected counties to mitigate any risks.

"We will make the equipment work, but this is not something that Ohio should be satisfied with for the long term," Brunner said. "Our goal is to have Ohio taxpayers compensated for this equipment that doesn't function properly."

Brunner is seeking punitive damages from Diebold, now Premier Election Solutions, after she said an investigation showed that votes in at least 11 counties were "dropped" in recent elections when memory cards were uploaded to computer servers.

1. "Affected Counties"? Are they admitting that the machines only had problems
in CERTAIN COUNTIES?

What are these "safeguards"? Something more than provisional ballots that they don't count?

3. Remember Reps were in charge until Jan 07
Still, the new Gov should have jumped right on it.

Machines were just a part of the problem. The real failure was the corrupt Sec of State, Ken Blackwell. No machine can be perfect if the co chair of bush's campaign had unrestricted access to the main tabulator.

7. I know Jenny
She knows the state was way dirty but she is working against a well funded
network of coruption, bad media, and born again crooks ..... she has to kill
the beast one little "prick at a time." A head long charge would hurt what
she is trying to do .... as of now everybody can get a paper ballot, can vote early,
and she has fired a bunch of people from BOEs who would "play nice."

She is one of the good guys.

P.S.

8. Hit them with a civil case, make them pay for lawyers and hopefully
punitive damages, then hit them with a criminal case.

12. Vapor voting - it was created for one sole purpose:
To steal elections.

The other claimed justifications for it are all demonstrably false:
"To save money" - By buying lots of expensive, high-maintenance machinery? Doesn't pass the laugh test.
"To speed up election results" - By causing weeks or months of lawsuits, investigations, etc? Please.
"To make results more reliable" - Hahahahaaaaa! Good lord spare me.

14. They CREATED the opportunity and took it.
They set up the Florida debacle in 2000, as an excuse to usher in HAVA.
