Sometimes at night when the cold wind blows...she visits my grave where the night winds wail..nobody knows, nobody sees...nobody knows but me...and (others)

1. The version I learned in the 'sixties --
Sometimes at night when the cold wind moans
In her long black veil she cries over my bones

She walks these hills in her long black veil
She visits my grave when the night winds wail
Nobody knows and nobody sees and nobody knows but me.

and others. Yes.

2. I've heard it by Dylan, Johnny Cash, and The Band, but never by Springsteen.
Thanks for pointing this one out to me.

3. First time I ever heard this song
was on a CD by the Irish group The Chieftains called The Long Black Veil. This one was done by Mick Jagger and it is awesome. The album was nominated for several Grammy's and it's ranked as one of their best.

4. Thanks for the link...I did check out the Johnny Cash verson..and Dylan...amazing
how it morphs.

I will be glad to here the Cheiftans version.

Springsteen's is haunting......how he made it "bigger in emotion." Kind of fit my mood...and thought outhers might like it..when I stumbled across it.

thanks. :hi:
