http://feeds.bignewsnetwork.com/index.php?sid=388386

A day after Indian and Pakistani commanders spoke on the hotline to prevent more military action along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistani troops again opened fire on Indian positions.

The fire was not returned and no casualties were registered on the Indian side.

It was the 20th violation of the truce since January.

A so-called ceasefire has been in place since November 2003.

Indian commanders said the Pakistani troops opened fire at with mortars and machine guns.

The firing halted after Indian commanders spoke to their Pakistani counterparts on the hotline and urged them to stop firing to prevent the situation from escalating.
