Inouye rallies to Stevens' defense
The Alaska and Hawaii senators, despite being from opposite parties, have long had an alliance. Being the last two states of the union, they apparently need to huddle for protection. Or something. And since Stevens and Inouye have essentially been around since statehood (and long before it), it's a bond that not even corruption and seven measly counts in an indictment can sever.

Senator Daniel Inouye, Democrat of Hawaii, who is the chairman of the defense appropriations subcommittee and a friend of Mr. Stevens, said that “he is innocent until proven guilty.” Mr. Inouye said he did not expect that the indictment would interfere with Senator Stevens’s ability to work in the Senate.

3. I'm sorry Senator Inouye
We don't need you to tell us he is innocent until proven guilty.

4. That statement is not defending Sen. Stevens.
Of course, an Indictment is not a Conviction. I hope that Sen. Stevens is found guilty of all the charges because I feel that he is a despicable person but that is not saying that he is guilty of those charges. I couldn't be on that Jury because I would have a hard time being impartial.

5. Sounds to me like he said the bare minimum. Hardly a rally
I don't expect any Senator to say much more in public.

8. Why would he need to say anything that could possibly be interpreted as a defense? Unless he was
as corrupt as almost all of them are.

11. Because he was asked
And he was asked because they've been friends.

6. The fact that a Dem from Hawaii could be "friends" with the likes of Stevens is further proof
that our system is broken and that the "Dems" in Congress are no better than the pukes they join with in raping America and the world.

They all have to be replaced if we are to have any hope of saving what was supposed to be a free country.

The Vichy-Dems deserve the treatment that the resistance meted out in WW-II.
