The thunder crashes
and that triggers me to ruminate over all that has happened.

I dwell upon the America we once thought we were.

We at least thought that we were once so better than this.

I think about Campell Brown dismissively laughing about the illustrious Congressman Kucinich's nobel efforts.

I ponder about the weighty hearings she mocked.

I consider the gravity of Vincent Bugliosi's cogent statements.

I also consider the corporate media's priorities.

I think about McCains's bogus multitudinous claim's which are rarely, if ever questioned by the press.

I think about the "Star Spangled Banner" and how it is a tribute to never ending militarism.

I wish it was "America the Beautiful." That would be Ray Charles version.

We are not a nation that sanctions legalized sadism.

We are not a nation that believes that a preemptive war on a sovereign country is a good idea.

We are not a nation that wants to continue this crap through an entirely corrupted voting system.

We are not a nation that does not adhere to the rule of law, habeas corpus, or the Magna Carta.

Nor will we tolerate their absences for much longer.

Why are we acting like one. . . ?

Yoo Hoo. . .To be entirely bereft of truly representative leadership is a very onerous thing.

This was and to this day is a land of the lively discussion.

There is more than simply, far more than two utterly boring points of view.

Don't buy into the BS and have a very nice evening.

2. Campbell Brown, putting the smarm in smarmy. Have to change
the channel when she starts with her Faux Snooze like interpretation of the day's events.

5. Campbell married a former Romney adviser/Iraq Coalition Provisional Authority Adviser:
Not exactly an example for unbiased reporting:

Just Asking: Will Campbell Brown Mention Her Husband's Romney Connection In Dem Debate?
Media Matters | November 14, 2007 03:48 PM

According to a November 9 Broadcasting & Cable article, former NBC News anchor Campbell Brown will "make her debut" on CNN as a "panelist" during the November 15 Democratic presidential debate in Las Vegas, moderated by CNN host Wolf Blitzer. Brown, who was hired by CNN in July, is married to Dan Senor, a former adviser for the now-defunct Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq who is now reportedly serving as an adviser to Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney. Given Brown's role in the upcoming Democratic debate, will CNN disclose her husband's link to Romney's campaign?

No one likes the truth if it requires them to change, to be Personally Inconvenienced in any way.

Oops, that's true...

11. whoops
Sorry about that but glad that you brought it up.

As George Carlin said (paraphrasing), in order to experience the American Dream one has to be asleep.

Yet seriously, I feel that more and more people have grown weary of being distracted, lied to, and are waking up.

Maybe let's just try and work towards creating a better reality.

True, that. I'll wager we're the only country on the planet with a national anthem that has the words "rockets" and "bombs" in its first verse.

14. My MIL recently said she cried when she heard the national anthem
I told her that militaristic song never gives me any pangs of patriotism... but America the Beautiful, that song makes me cry every time.

I do not buy the media BS. The truth is most people, Americans and foreigners, can see that Obama is the man we need to lead us now. Nothing the bauble heads on TV say can make me change my mind about that.

Thank you for the moving post, Stella.

15. Thanks and that post was really impulsive, thrown together, & totally stream of consciousness.
I have about 5 varieties of blue salvia & sage in my garden which I really adore.

Here are some images in appreciation for your kind response and rec.

Consider forwarding them to your mum. Maybe she might lighten up a bit. :)
