Happy 65th birthday July 26, Mick Jagger. Please allow me to introduce myself. . .
Dammit, he has been providing some of the best music of my life since 1964, and I think those of us here on DU should recognize just what Sir Mick has meant to us.

Anybody up for saying thanks for 44 years of the very best of rock and roll? Then kick it.

11. Did you see "Shine a Light"?
(Martin Scorsese's documentary)

The whole film is great and the version of Sympathy was incredible.

4. Happy 65, Mick!!
We should all be so lucky to be in that kind of shape at that age. Or even considerably younger, for some of us.

8. It happened because our music is and was the best. Mick is 65. But what a ride.
It's not how long you live, it's how well you do it.

OK, I need reading glasses to check out the YouTube videos. But I love it.

Happy birthday, Mick. My God, if us Boomers can't wish Happy Birthday to Mick Jagger, we are indeed lost.

But we aren't, of course. So Happy Birthday, Mick.

just realized what I'm going to be doing for the rest of the night

"I was born in a cross-fire hurricane"

have you checked any of the Hendrix stuff at youtube?

this is AWE inspiring....outtake from voodoo chile...electric ladyland

ever seen the DVD on the making of that album?

I bought it, and it's one of the most interesting things I've ever seen

they wouldn't let Brian Jones play on it, cause he wasn't good enough, but they let a cab driver that had one of the players in his car come down with his congas and sit in

14. You don't have to be a boomer to love the Stones.
I was at this concert during the Bridges to Babylon tour.

One of the best I've ever seen by any band young or old. Mic is an amazing performer. After nearly three hours I was tired of standing but he was still running back and forth on stage. And he's my Dad's age.

17. An unheralded lyricist...
He's composed some pretty dazzling stuff over the years; the Stones' overall image and soap-opera-ish history tends to overwhelm what fundamentally solid work the produced during their first ten or so years.

(and beyond that... eh, even though it never did much for me, I figure they were entitled to milk it all and then some.)

Happy Birthday, Mick.

when Jagger said: "If I'm still pranicng around on a stage sing "Satisfaction" when I'm forty, I hope someone shoots me." I've often wanted to send him a copy.

26. My tribute to Mick and the boys...

I play something from the Stones every day. After 40 plus years, I've never gotten tired of their music. Really, I can't think of a better tribute.

Here's another vid from Rock and Roll Circus, with Mick doing the intro with John Lennon...plus a few special guests.

31. Oh yeah!
I haven't missed a Stones tour since the age of 12. I've travelled 800 miles; I've E-bayed my way to the front row; I've even gone while I was *really* pregnant.

Happy Birthday, Mick!

I listened to this song just yesterday. Timely, even though it's over 30 years old.

Fingerprint File

Fingerprint file, you get me down
You keep me running, know my way around. Yes, you do, child
Fingerprint file, you bring me down
Keep me running
You keep me on the ground
Know my moves
Way ahead of time
Listening to me, on your satellite

Feeling followed
Feeling tagged
Crossing water
Trying to wipe my tracks

And there's some little jerk in the FBI
A keepin' papers on me six feet high
It gets me down, it gets me down, it gets me down

You better watch out
On your telephone
Wrong number
They know you ain't home

And there's some little jerk in the FBI
A keepin' papers on me six feet high
It gets me down, it gets me down, it gets me down..... shoot!

Who's the man on the corner; that... that corner over there
I don't know. Well, you better lay low. Watch out

Keep on the look out
Electric eyes
Rats on the sell out
Who gonna testify
You know my habits, way a head of time
Listening to me, on your satellite

And there's some little jerk in the FBI
A keepin' papers on me six feet high
It gets me down, it gets me down, it gets me down
It gets me down

Hello, baby, mm-hmm
Ah, yeah, you know we ain't, we ain't talkin' alone
Who's listening? Well I don't really know
But you better tell the SIS to keep out of sight
'Cause I know they takin' pictures on the ultraviolet light
Yes, uh huh, yeah, but these days it's all secrecy; no privacy
Shoot first, that' s right... they know you
Bye bye.
Right now somebody is.... listening to...... you
Keeping their eyes peeled...... on you!
Mmm, mmm, what a price, what a price to pay
All right. Good night, sleep tight
