So much that is crucial to informed public debate is left out that it's painful to listen to even relatively good Democrats talk about the issues, especially foreign policy.
But when Maliki said he agreed with Obama about a timeline for withdrawal, a miracle happened: the MSM acknowledged the reality that the Iraqis want us to leave.
And not just once. It stuck in the discourse.
This makes me wonder which other painfully obvious but censored truth will finally take its rightful place in mainstream discourse.
I've got some candidates below, but I'd like to hear others.
| Poll result (6 votes) |
| The Iraq War was primarily about controlling their oil and being in a position to invade or intimidate other oil producing countries. | (4 votes, 67%) | Vote |
| Bush wanted Iraq's oil not for us, but so his oil company buddies could control the flow, set the price, and collect the profits. | (0 votes, 0%) | Vote |

| No country in the Middle East is a threat to the US, whether or not they get nukes. It would be suicidal for them to nuke us or give them to terrorists who did. | (0 votes, 0%) | Vote |
| Bush & Cheney were at a bare minimum criminally incompetent in allowing 9/11 to happen | (0 votes, 0%) | Vote |
| Saudi Arabia had a greater role in 9/11 than Afghanistan or certainly Iraq, and is causing more problems in Iraq than Iran is. | (0 votes, 0%) | Vote |
| The War on Terror is 95% bullshit and used as a pretext to pursue other agendas. | (1 votes, 17%) | Vote |
| Our trade deals & economic policies toward the rest of the world not only harm Americans, but the people in other countries, which is the primary reason people don't like us | (1 votes, 17%) | Vote |
| Enough election fraud, civil rights violations, and voter intimidation occurred in 2000 and 2004 to nullify any claim that Bush won. | (0 votes, 0%) | Vote |
