FOX is covering the Democratic convention at the Pepsi Center...

However, Obama's acceptance speech is scheduled for August 28, at INVESCO Field.

Does anyone know who's covering the speech?

and to make it easier for people at the convention to get around. Can you imagine the congestion of cameras if Fox, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS and NBC all had cameras rolling around?

12. fox merely has the pool coverage responsibility

they will have the basic "podium" shot cameras. Each of the networks will be covering the convention and will have their own "floor" cameras as I understand it.

17. Actually Not A Bad Move...Have Them Handling The "Pool"

It's nothing more than operating and pointing their cameras and that feed is then given to the other networks. At least here they will have to be careful where those cameras point and keep them from getting into too much trouble.

I'm looking forward to both conventions and for opposite reasons. The GOOPers will put on their usual reverse oreo show...pretend to be "compassionate" and make us all forget about the past 7 1/2 years. They're giving boooshie a "going far far far far far far away" party on the first night...the fun there will be to see who dares to stand on the stage with his assholiness and where Gramps is that night (my bets are also very far away). Then there's the Paulbots and their convention up the street...15,000 loud...all but sure to attract media attention as well. And as a friend of mine who lives in Minneapolis recently said, the amount of siliva in drinks will be at an all time high that week.

The Democratic Convention should be the best we've enjoyed since Clinton's second nomination in Chicago in '96...one of a party looking forward and younger and more energized. Be assured our beloved corporate media will do all it can to find a PUMA or DINO to "balance things"...but one thing the Obama campaign has done very well is to thwart to corporate media in pushing their memes.

I'll really enjoy the "recpetion" BillO and Hannity are sure to get in Denver...including saliva-laden drink in hand...just watching them as their corrupt, inept party self destructs on live TV is well worth the watch.

And, BTW...Gramps acceptance speech is scheduled for a Thursday night...up against the first NFL regular season game. And what will you be watching?

If there is one protester or one drunk, they can make it look like the whole damn convention is under seige.

FOX should never have that much power.

Hell, even CSPAN is dependent on that feed.

20. Just A Set Of Cameras...

No, they have no control over the graphics or even the shot used by networks. This is to cut down on the camera clutter at these events. The cameras they'll control will be almost always focused on the podium. The networks will have plenty of their own cameras out there floating around...but this feed is the "official" one...the one you see if you scan the channels and see the same shot.

Honestly, there's not much power in being forced to keep your camera trained on the stage...and tying up some of their technical people to make sure the feed goes out. Trust me, Faux will try to find other mischief at the convention and it'll be away from the podium.
