Does anyone else get the feeling that Bush isn't packing up
And getting ready to leave the WH?

I was getting that sense before, but this latest Mukasey thing didn't help, even if it was only said to the AEI:

1. I think Bush is ready to hang it up
After all, his whole life, he's screwed up one thing after another and just walked away. I'll bet he was ready to leave the day after the election in November of 2006.

Cheney's another thing.

7. Agreed. Bush is ready to go back to clearing brush. Cheney's the one to fear.
We all know he's the real president.

On the one hand I think that he didn't work hard to amass so much power in the executive to hand it over to Obama, or McCain for that matter. On the other hand, is there anything left to loot?

Will they walk away or will they use the powers they put in place to stay in office? It will be interesting to see what happens.

2. He did mention the other day that Laura...
...is house shopping in Dallas. Apparently, it's no longer necessary for them to keep up the fiction that the Bushes are just simple pig farmers from Crawford.

With all the favors he's done for Big Oil, Big War and Big You-Name-It, he should be able to afford to buy Dallas outright, if not the whole of Texas.

11. Probably, unless they up her meds to the point...
...she doesn't know where she is. It's pretty borderline already.

17. Not Paraguay
Edited on Wed Jul-23-08 03:15 PM by Warpy
It seems he screwed the pooch on that land deal because Paragauy has taken a turn to the left and has also finally signed an extradition treaty.

Halliburton might give him a do nothing job in Dubai, though.

18. Did Paraguay actually sign the extradition treaty?
I heard they'd had an election and the government had gone more
left but I hadn't heard that the treaty was a done deal. In any
event I think you're spot-on about Dubai ... It's like Leisure
World for criminals.

6. The prospect of such a nightmare has been in the back of my mind for some time.
In order to pull this off, however, they must stage yet another false flag attack on U.S. soil, this time something that would make 9-11 look like a childish Halloween prank.

I guess we'll know soon enough.

8. Before spinning a conspiracy theory like this...
...I wish people would think through just how they imagine him holding onto power. Will the troops go along this? Are there even enough with our readiness declines? Will the State Police somehow be commissioned into a national police force? I've lived in a military dictatorship, and if you don't have a corrupt military and police force to begin with, its not easy to pull off.

12. You may be right! Wasn't there a wine truck parked in back of the White House recently?

It seems to me if Bush was planning on leaving anytime soon, he wouldn't be restocking the wine cellar....
