I think the question with that is whether McCain is so busy shoring up what ought to be his "base" that he cannot afford a pro-choice guy from PA on the ticket. I'm not sure tactically he's going to be able to move to the center a slight bit with someone like Ridge...

If I were in his shoes, I'm sure I'd find a way to talk up my home state, Michigan.

Ridge vs. Rendell would be a fight of epic proportions, IMHO, and very entertaining. I lived in the Alabama part of PA for awhile, and they won't give up the fight.

But right now, I'd put my money on Rendell.

I still think he'll either shore up the base (Huckabee) or go for someone who knows something about economics (Romney, maybe Crist).

Biden was my second choice after Edwards. He has lots of experience in international affairs and knows Washington well. I thought that he wouldn't get us into any trouble and would start to turn the aircraft carrier that's the United States in the right direction again. With a country this big, and a government that big, change isn't going to happen overnight, IMHO.
He'd be a great addition to the ticket.

I lived in PA for several years until 2006. Rendell would not have been a problem for me, but I didn't know that he had taken himself out of the running.

16. I'm from PA and I don't know that "Rocky" Ridge is all that popular

at least he is no more popular IMHO than Rendell. When he left to head Homeland Security we didn't even seem to miss him and the Lt. Governor who took over when Ridge left, Gov. Schweiker stepped up big time during the Quecreek mine accident & rescue.
