Have you actually seen a McCain bumper sticker?
I just drove across six states and didn't see a single one (or a yard sign)

Lots of Obama-still even a few Hillarys. And a Bush holdover or two.

At this point in the 2004 campaign, it seemed like every other car had either a Bush or a Kerry.

Is the enthusiasm for McCain that low with the GOP?

4. Only one or two - and I live in his home state.
I haven't seen that many lawn signs here either.

It's entirely believable that Arizona could be competitive - new people move here all the time and they aren't exactly loyal to McCain.

8. I've seen very few. Less than 10 total.
Hell, I still see more of the B/C'04 and oval W stickers than that, and I'm in California so those are pretty rare. Shit, I see more Kucinich stickers than all three together.

Never did see many Hillary stickers here, even though she won the state. Paultard signs and stickers were everywhere, some of those are still up. Even saw a few Huck stickers, and a shitpile of his signs went up last minute (I think some local church set that up.)

Hell, I see more leftover Kerry stickers than McCain ones, but then again he has no chance of winning CA, so I doubt they're wasting a lot of money on free campaign merch.

But what's more encouraging to me are the fact that I am seeing so many Obama stickers on cars (I drive through Buckhead and Downtown daily). In fact, at this point, I would say the McSame and Bush 04 sticker sightings are about equal (remember, I'm in Atlanta).

Not one here in East Tn. Not even from the schmucks that had at least 30 Dubya signs (isn't one enough?) in their yard in 2004:)

I am seeing more and more Obama Stickers and yard signs as time goes.

Odd for this area as you can guess:)

18. Nope.
I was thinking the same thing the other day. We went on a trip to the Smoky Mountains recently and took the back roads there through rural Virginia, North Carolina and into Tennessee. Saw a fair number of Obama stickers but not a single McCain sticker. It dawned on me that I've never seen a McCain sticker.

Edited on Mon Jul-21-08 04:30 PM by CatBO
Because you know... if you're in an old RAV4, Republicans are really representative of your particular rung on the financial ladder.

I always want to spit on people in beat up cars with Republican stickers.

At least the BMW's and the Jaguars I understand: They are rich and they hate everyone else. But the mid-level to poor guy with a Republican sticker? It seems like a gun in the mouth would be more self-serving than their vote for a Republican.

Oh wait.....oops, someone misspelled it.....it seems to say "McBush....oh hell no!" It's right below the one that says "WHEN BUSH TOOK OFFICE, GAS WAS $1.46" And to the left of my Obama bumper sticker. (I put them on magnets -- no way I'm I slapping all of that stuff on my second biggest tangible investment!)

Other than that, I've seen maybe 2 McCain bumper stickers in Asheville & surrounding areas -- I've seen tons of Obama stickers, though.

It was one of those whole window screen thingies in the back window of a pickup. BIG pickup, one of those that's been jacked way up so you need a ladder to get into the thing. Other than that, lots of Obama stickers and some signs in windows, also some Ron Paul yard signs.
