Bush goes to Tony Snow's funeral
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080717/ap_on_go_pr_wh/snow_funeral

President Bush fondly remembered Tony Snow Thursday, telling mourners at Snow's funeral that the conservative commentator-turned-White House press secretary "amassed a rare record of accomplishment." Bush was accompanied to the funeral on the campus of Catholic University by some familiar faces from earlier in his presidency, including former top adviser Karl Rove and one-time chief of staff Andrew Card. Row after row at the shrine was packed with family members and friends and associates, including White House correspondents.

So he CAN go to the funeral of a guy that was briefly the White House press secretary and died of cancer, but he CAN'T go to any of our fallen soldiers' funerals even though they died serving our country. Anyone else want to barf.

2. You are comparing apples and oranges
His attitude towards the fallen soldiers is appaling, but there is nothing wrong with going to Snow's funeral.

5. in principal no
but he avoids soldiers funerals. It's HIS value system that's in question. The one that places cronies far above America's troops. Photo op next to a dead crony is ok, photo op next to dead troop to be avoided at all costs.

7. I agree
I think the wrong category and right category have nothing to do with each other.

9. see above
not questioning if it's right/wrong to goto the mans funeral. Questioning the value system the President has that makes him avoid at all cost his fallen soldiers, but more than happy to show up for Tony Snows funeral. And I certainly believe if Bush was a Democratic president the media would pick up on such an amazing odd set of values.

16. Okay
Fair enough. The only reason I commented was because I would rather concentrate on discouraging bad and encouraging good.
But I see your point.

Somebody please serve him up some contempt, and a huge serving of arrest. :grr:

4. What makes Snow so special over any KIA?

Smirky has not been to one KIA funeral yet even though he was the one who sent them off to die.

11. I'm pretty certain that most of the dead soldiers wouldn't WANT Bush
at their funerals. Assuming they are all in a better place after death, and that they know the truth about what's going on, I would imagine the vast majority would not want Bush in attendance.

The man is a disgrace and a traitor to this country.

14. aren't funerals for the living family
Once your dead do you really care if you have a funeral at all?

I'm pretty sure some of these families would be more than happy for him to show up since they are happy to meet with him and be used as back drop at other events.

15. Can't really say how the dead feel. Just guessing.
I would suppose Kool-Aid drinking families might enjoy having Bush attend the funeral of a dead soldier, but my guess is the vast majority of families would not want Bush, especially if they are educated and know the truth about the war that killed their family member.
