Bush coming to the Napa Valley
I just got this e-mail. There are no details yet, but I will post them as I get them for those of you who might be able to be there to protest.

URGENT AND IMPORTANT! PLEASE FORWARD TO ANY AND EVERY PERSON/GROUP YOU CAN THINK OF WHO MAY HAVE AN INTEREST IN THIS ISSUE.

Fellow Peace Seekers,

On Thursday, July 17th, President Bush will -- once again -- be visiting the Napa Valley.

Regrettably, unlike the last time he came to town, we have been unable to ascertain the exact location of his anticipated final destination while here. We believe, nonetheless, that we should not be deterred by that in our efforts to remind both Mr. Bush and the public that we have not forgotten, nor should they, the tragedy that continues in Iraq under his watch, let alone the aggressive tone that he continues to take towards Iran.

SO LETS TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO PUT THIS ISSUE SQUARELY BACK IN THE PUBLIC EYE BY COMING OUT IN BIG NUMBERS TO MAKE IT CLEAR THAT WE WANT AN END TO THIS MADNESS!

TENTATIVE TIME: THURSDAY (THE 17TH) @ 5:00 P.M.

PLACE: SOMEWHERE IN THE NAPA AREA, TO BE ANNOUNCED A.S.A.P.

PLEASE BRING A SIGN TO CARRY FOR THE EVENT.

My sign will say: Fuck Bush and the NeoCons he rode in on. Just in case anyone wants to say hi.

1. Hmm, Bush, Napa Valley,
Sounds like a buying trip for him, stock up on a few cases for when he heads back to the ol' pig farm. Probably will be sloshed while he's there too, bring cameras.

17. was there over the weekend
It was hot, smokey, humid and the air quality was dreadful. The fires have taken out quite a bit of the local communications stations; others are running on emergency generators because the power lines to them have been downed. All in all, not a pretty sight.

Bush will be showered with love, there are too many religious whackos and Repubs up there now. I am glad I never moved back. I was glad to return to my little home in Lake Co.

7. I don't know why the fuck he comes here
Very few (if any) of the rich repubs support him. He doesn't drink. And if he did drink  he certainly wouldn't appreciate the wine we produce. The last time he came it was perfectly awful.

And why the hell would he go to Redding? Only XemaSab goes to Redding.

I wouldn't do that to a Pinot Noir. Yek.

You would think I could spell it correctly, though.

9. I know, it's a gross image, but I just hate the guy more and more.
I grew up in Napa, though when I go back to visit, I can't believe how much it has changed.

Good luck with your protest! I hope he catches a glimpse of you!

Interestingly, I recently posted these photos of his last trip to the valley. These were in response to photographing a cop.http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.ph...
