Can You Keep the Earth in Balance? - take the quiz.
Excellent information here:
http://www.salon.com/src/pass/sitepass/spon/sitepass_website.html

There's an optional video that illustrates the answer to each question.
While you're watching it, time is paused for the quiz.

1. YIKES any danger of Hydrogen Sulfide killing everything off when the global conveyor stops again?

2. Not in the short term
at least according to a documentary I saw last night on the mass extinction of 250 million years ago. Modeling indicates it took about 100,000 years after the conveyer system stopped for enough Hydrogen Sulfide to build up in the seas for it to start to generate atmospheric clouds that swept over the landmasses.
