My July 4 State Of The Union Address
The Project For A New American Century was founded in the early 90's by Cheney, Rumsfeld, Woolfowitz, and other neoconservatives who seized control of our foreign policy when Bush took office. Based upon America becoming the only super power remaining on the planet, their goal was/is to use all of America's resources, including the military, to spread our influence over the globe.

Prior to Bush's election, they publicly stated that the American people would never get behind such a policy unless we had "another Pearl Harbor type of event." That type of event miraculously occurred, yet no thorough investigation has ever been conducted to accurately determine exactly who, how and why.

Now, we are in the midst of an illegal and immoral war bringing deaths to thousands of Americans and tens (hundreds?) of thousands of innocent people. Bush, Cheney and members of the administration flat out fucking lied to garner support for the war.

They belong in fucking jail. McCain thinks it is okay for us to stay in Iraq for 100 years. We are 10 trillion dollars in debt to China, Japan and others to fund this war. Most of this money is going into the hands of private corporations who have near total control over the federal legislative and executive branches, including Bush's daddy's Carlyle Group and Cheney's Halliburton.

We are living under corporate fascism and the big media corporations who repeat the lies to the masses are the biggest lobbies in Washington D.C., including General Electric (they make fighter jet engines, you know), which owns NBC.

The unconstitutional Federal Reserve prints paper money upon request of the government, diluting our money supply. The dollar in your pocket has lost 49% of its value since Bush took office. There is zero congressional oversight over the Fed. The identity of member banks and what is discussed in their meetings is kept totally secret. And if a big bank fails, the American taxpayer has to bale it out.

This, combined with Bush's eager desire to invade Iran is why gasoline prices are so high (Republicans publicly state that a first nuclear strike against Iran is "not off the table"). The cabal of private banks running the Federal Reserve profit immediately from the issuance of new money. However, by the time the money reaches the poor and middle classes, it is considerably devalued. The middle class is disappearing. In 2006, the top 1% of the rich in this country amassed 25% of the country's wealth. The rest of the world is abandoning the use of our currency and if current trends continue it will end up being about as valuable as the pitiful peso.

In the 1960's, the average executive earned fifty times more money than the average worker. Now, the average executive earns at least 500 times more than the average worker. Foreclosure rates have doubled and tent cities are appearing on our landscape. We are slaves to government for at least five months out of the year because all of the money we earn during that time period is absconded, under threat of harassment or prison, and handed over to the government for uses over which the people have no control.

The Fourth Amendment has been eviscerated by the Patriot Act and FISA courts (The new FISA amendments will give communication companies immunity from eavesdropping prosecution retroactively, an unconstitutional ex post facto law). The federal government is exercising the power to spy on any citizen anywhere without a warrant, and with the ability to turn on your cell phone without you knowing it (unless you remove the battery) so they can listen to conversations in the vicinity of the cell phone microphone.

The executive branch has adopted the position that it can exercise any power that it chooses, whether it usurps the power of congress or whether it ignores a Supreme Court ruling commanding that the executive branch does not have authority under the Constitution to exercise such power. Executive branch members are openly defying congressional subpoenas, refusing to appear and give testimony before lawful committees.

Torture is condoned by the executive branch. The same powers are advocating taxation and regulation of the Internet. Presidential signing statements have rejected the cherished principle of posse comitatus and have claimed the power to use the U.S. military against American citizens in the event of an emergency or an uprising.

Homeland Security is pushing hard for a National ID card, without which you cannot drive or fly. People wishing to exercise their free speech have been relegated to barbed wire enclosed "free speech zones." Our prisons, mostly lucrative and privately owned businesses, are full of nonviolent drug offenders, including a large disproportionate number of black people.

This 4th of July weekend we celebrate our forefathers who pledged their lives and died so we could enjoy freedom and liberty. Their revolution was initially sparked by a stupid law that required the people to buy a fucking stamp from the government to put on official documents. They were not facing one-tenth of the tyranny that the American people face today.

Thus is the state of our Union, according to me.
