3. YES...I am certain...
The Brady Campaign is full of Rethugs, Sara Brady, and Paul Helmke are BOTH, life long republicans, go to the "About Brady" page, and you will see it for yourself..

And Paul Helmke bio, conveniently leaves out the fact of his Republican mayorship.

4. Lobbying for gun control = "take apart the Bill of Rights"?
Edited on Sat Jun-28-08 08:49 PM by MrMonk
Is that the connection that you're trying to make?
The Bradys have been lobbying for stronger gun control laws for decades.

5. Yes, the connection is made...

They, are Republicans, doing what Republicans do best, Lie, miss lead, and destroy the bill of rights..

Take a look at what blindly following Sara Brady, has done to our beloved party... Do you remember the push for Gun Control in the early 1990's and what happened to us in 1994??

Why so many "so called" Democrats, take marching orders from Republicans is beyond me. Especially when it has long been proven time and time again, to be a BIG TIME election looser..

Ask yourself this question out loud...

Why would REPUBLICANS, like Sara Brady, and Paul Helmke, push Democrats, to take positions, that has proven to be pure political poison in the vast majority of the nation??

6. Wait, so you're saying Brady is a mole?
Even if that's the case then he merely tapped into something a lot progressives feel, anyway. A lot of progressives have a reflexive dislike of guns (as well as a lack of experience) and that partially influences views on gun control.

7. If the shoe fits...wear it..
Brady, has had that effect.... I don't understand why a "progressive" would spend so much effort in restricting a civil right anyway.

It does not make sense

8. Because we're not immune to foibles.
But I don't think he's a progressive, I think he's a centrist or conservative who had a harrowing experience that changed his viewpoint on a particular issue and felt compelled to champion it. But maybe I'm too trusting.

2. I can picture it now...
Edited on Sat Jun-28-08 08:11 PM by D__S
the dozens of their bug-eyed followers searching under the sofa cushions for loose change and liberating the entombed pennies and nickels from the spilled soda in their change trays so that their heroes can "save the children" and "stop the bloodshed".

Imagine their shock though when they discover that they'll have to pay for the postage stamp also.
