Do you think people will ever trust government again?
From the forest service to walter reed to the military and the list is HUGE - our govt has really fucked up with the quickness.

When the dems are in power, the rw trots out how fucked up the govt is, when repugs are in power we nail em on every single branch of it (and I think they probably have screwed up every branch down to the tiniest twig in the budget).

They can't even run social security and we want to sell people on a government run universal health care?

The damage done by this administration has played right into the hands of the right via a backdoor - everyone now seems not to believe in the ability of our government to run things, run them right, and run them without corruption and backstabbing the little people (while helping out some big corporations).

Now, even with dems in (some) power, we find the weaknesses - even we are doubting (we in a general sense, does not mean all) that the government is of the people, by the people, and for the people.

Someone moved my cheese, and gave it to the corporations - while the little people are suffering.

I am not anti-business or corporation, it is our leaders who have the power and means to regulate them and they don't seem willing to.

1. One of the worst things in all of this BFEE BS
is that all of those people living in their cult-y communties in the wilderness, and every guy living alone in the woods in a 10x12 foot box who has ever sworn they were the only sane person because the government is spying on them and targeting them have been proven right.

Fabulous.

2. No, and no one should ever trust government.
Right about the time someone starts trusting government, they get this big red, white and blue foot shoved up their asses.

10. Just to show how old I am .....

I remember a time when government existed for the sake of the people.

Now it's the other way around.

11. Perhaps a Populist government led by
someone like say, Gov. Dean. Someone with no handles, no loyalties, no purpose but to facilitate, then yes, I could trust again. Tom Delay's comments aside, FDR had it right and Coolidge/Hoover had it wrong and Woody Guthrie(and others) were there to officiate.

It's up to us really. When we decide not to play anymore the game is up. We did this after the Nixon years and forced corporate America to come begging to us for a new ball. They've picked up the MSM since that time but we've acquired the "internets" It's up to us, time to get froggy.

Anyone embracing the DLC, AIPAC, PNAC, RNC, TLC or CFL is doing business as usual and is not to be followed nor supported. I can support a global village but not a global economy nor global government.

13. I never ever really trusted the government blindly (Federal, State, or Local)
I understand the neccessity of government, so my motivation has never been because I desire total anarchy or anything of that like.

However, I understand that governments are run by human beings, human beings who make mistakes and who don't always have the right motives in heart.

Thus, I try to stay very informed when it comes to governmental affairs while trying not to meddle in too much into private personal matters. (i.e. Local court and arrest matters.)
