I'm noticing NBC did not shorten their US Open coverage
Edited on Sat Jun-14-08 07:24 PM by tularetom
to air the russert blubberfest.

But it's been running nonstop on their cable outlet MSNBC.

They may have loved Timmeh but they ain't about to lose any of those big advertising bucks over him.

1. Hey if the Iowa floods had a corporate sponsor...

...I'm sure we'd hear more about them too.

2. The Iowa floods are devastating
And should be given much more coverage than the Tim Russert story. These floods are going to impact this whole country with just the agricultural loss alone. The corporate media should be ashamed.

4. For the most part
I feel the cable news shows have done a pretty good job this week on the flood coverage. At least from some of the segments I saw.

I totally feel the floods are more important in the grand scheme of things than Russert's death. But I do feel it's justified the amount of coverage the NBC affiliates are giving to the death. The man did work for them.

5. I'm here in the middle of it
You have no idea how bad it is. The coverage has been minimal compared to the enormity of the devastation throughout the state. This will impact everyone in this country just by the agricultural losses alone.
