Severe thunderstorm with possible tornado north of Marshalltown Airport and headed east.
May be a rain wrapped tornado. Reported on KWWL just now.

Straight line winds and hail in it.

Get to shelter if you are affected.

1. Aw damn!
I'll be praying. This is nasty! Rain-wrapped, so you can't see the "toy surprise" inside.

:scared:

2. Man. I'm going to have to do some work on our basement.
It's pretty nasty at the moment, but if they're getting hit this bad in IA, there's no reason it can't happen in w. central WI next.

3. Oh crap!
I've sent some $$$ to Iowa red cross organizations, but I still feel pretty damn powerless in the face of all this.

14. Just started raining here in Cedar Rapids again
I was outside thinking we were going to have a great day.................

I see the storm clouds to the west moving our way...

I ran in and checked the weather....there are some nasty cells out there.
Rain chances now 80% for today and 80% for tonight....last I looked it was 20%....what the hell happened???
I'm not sure I can handle more of this....so freaking depressing....

again.

It was great to have the sun to run-off a bit of this. Now we get to do the nothing to do but watch where this one goes, again.

Keeping fingers crossed that the rain isn't widespread and torrential.

6. It's darkening here and we are south of the direct path of the storm
I think we will get sideswiped. We don't need more rain.

10. No one around this neck of the woods does...north of this storm are a few more
forming and headed on a line that will take them across southern Wisconsin.

Looks like late afternoon and evening thunderstorms for lots of folks who don't want them.

8. I just got home from helping with sandbagging efforts in Coralville -
I hope they can provide decent shelter for everyone if the storm comes through, but I wouldn't count on it. I was kind of disgusted with the apparent lack of coordination (long story), so I hope the word gets out!

13. I live in a SW Border state and have no idea what areas
you are referring to. State initials would help after each designation.

Yes I care what happens in the Midwest!!!!

19. It's setting up to be a 'train' of storms that will pass thru N.IL and S.WI
A long period of rain is something no one needs in these parts.

Its path reminds me of the one the storms took the other night. :scared:
