Who Will Succeed Tim Russert On MTP.
First and foremost I do not want to sound even remotely unsensitive about asking this question so early. I really liked Tim and I wish his family my sincerest condolences.

Even though this hard for us fans, the business of the news never stops. So the question begs to be asked...who in the world could succeed someone like Time Russert on MTP?

My guess it will have to be someone from the NBC\MSNBC Family.

Personally I would love to see KO get the spot, but he does lean to one way. Brian Williams (who I am not exactly fond of) I think will be the odds favorite.

8. I was assuming he'd taped the show already...no?
Some of the Sunday shows tape on Friday. Was MTP always live?

14. he was working on the show when he passed.
They do need a temp, and they do need a permanent replacement.

Rachel Maddow would be a good choice. professional, intelligent, smart and well informed.

6. Tweety or Andrea Mitchell would be my guess
KO really doesnt have any experience at interviewing outside of the Democratic party (or writers supportive of).

With Mitchell being the most senior name political interviewer on NBC, I would bet she would be asked first.

Should she decline (Greenspan IS getting up in age, Andrea might not want to stay in the business much longer), I bet they would offer Matthews the position.

15. I'm guessing Mrs. Greenspan
Tweety gets too star struck. Andrea is a definite repuke, but at least she wouldn't be giddy to be talking to someone with real political power.

13. Brokaw would be the most elegant choice.
Tweety is such a loose-lipped canon, to mix a metaphor.

She'd be so good that most Republicans would be scared to go on with her.

9. After this Sunday, they will probably
do a tag team for quite a while. Williams will be the most frequent stand-in until someone gets the post.

It just might be Andrea Mitchell, given that others who come to mind are easily pegged "liberal" - I think she tries to stay in the middle and factual despite her slithering husband.

This Sunday will be a memorial with lots of clips, probably hosted by Brokaw or Williams.

11. How About Chuck Todd?
he is a logical progression...a guy who Tim mentored from a guy who would show up on C-Span for 2 minutes to one of the most important people on the NBC network
