Trial begins in homeless man's beating death
http://www.miamiherald.com/news/broward/story/560112.html

This is of importance to me because I knew him growing up. He lived down the street from us and played with us littler guys, tho' he was a bit older. He didn't get along well with his adoptive parents. After HS, he joined the Army, and then dropped out of sight. He sent the occasional letter and phone call to his sister, but no one knew what became of him--until the news report.

Hopefully, justice will be served.

1. Our mothers were close friends
and they keep in touch, even after they (The Gaynors) moved away to retire in Pensacola. I remember when I got the call from my mother when they talked earlier that day. She had gotten the call from the Broward police about her son's murder. Fortunately, she was called before the news was released. She was devastated, and then had to go and identify the body. That's news that no parent should have to hear. :(
