Many times in the past, the Superhounds of DU have gone to work on a story, pulling at those loose threads. I think it's time to release the Superhounds again because if it's true, this is the biggest story of the Bush years. Even if substantial portions of it don't check out, it will have served as an organizer for the inquiry, and I'm sure the inquiry itself will turn things up whether or not the original Arrigo story turns out to be watertight.
Some lines of inquiry suggest themselves instantly. The first of these is, Who is this woman?
A sister claims that she has "episodes of paranoid schizophrenia," and this assertion is being used to attack her--as is her promulgation of a theory that the CIA developed a vaccine for AIDS.
Paranoid schizophrenia is unlikely in her case--people with this condition are typically too cognitively disorganized to convince anyone of anything except that they are psychotic. Think Mercer here. Delusional Disorder is a more realistic possibility. People with this diagnosis are generally pretty intact mentally, except for their delusions, which tend to be well-worked-out, non-bizarre, and internally consistent. In fact, only the falsity of the delusion distinguishes them from normal people who actually know something really weird.

Does any of this check out, or not? She is a licensed physician in CA. Paranoid schizophrenics tend not to retain their physicians' licenses.
