Obama Now 17 Points Atop McCain in Washington State: Democrat Barack Obama defeats Republican John McCain 56% to 39% in an election for President of the United States in Washington State today, 06/10/08, 147 days until the election, according to this SurveyUSA pre-election tracking poll conducted exclusively for KING-TV in Seattle and KATU-TV in Portland Oregon. Compared to an identical SurveyUSA poll released one month ago, Obama is up 2 points; McCain is down 3. Obama leads among men and women, young and old, among whites and minorities. 13% of Republicans cross-over to vote for Democrat Obama; 7% of Democrats cross-over to vote for Republican McCain. Independents split. Obama leads by 19 points in Metro Seattle, by 17 in Western Washington, and by 10 in Eastern Washington. Among voters younger than Obama, Obama leads by 24. Among voters older than McCain, Obama leads by 4. Among moderates, Obama returns in June to the significant advantage he had in April, but lost in May. Filtering: SurveyUSA interviewed 900 Washington adults 06/07/08 through 06/09/08; of the adults, 778 identified themselves as being registered to vote in Washington state. Of the registered voters, 637 were determined by SurveyUSA to be likely to vote in the November general election. 37 of Washington's 39 counties vote exclusively by mail; ballots must be postmarked no later than Election Day, 11/04/08.

11. True, but Obama is doing better in WA than any of them. for instance,
Gore won Washington by a 6-point margin while Kerry won by a 7-point margin.

7. This should surprise no one but apparently is news to many in the MSM who
have ignorantly designated OR and WA as battleground states. Hahaha...

9. I've learned that when it comes to polls and political news, we are ahead of the "experts"

Perfect example is last night WOLF Blitzer asking Boxer if a popular Arnold could help McCain in CA. What he didnt know, and What I've known for months is that his approval rating has been in the dumps. Right now, he is approved by 37% and disapproved by 60%

but once you go east across the cascade curtain (or north or south of seattle/tacoma metro area), it gets mighty Ron Paul.

12. Not really considering that Gore won by 6-pts and Kerry by 7 in WA, I'd say Obama is doing very well
