Do you believe President Bush's actions justify impeachment?
* 591881 responses

Yes, between the secret spying, the deceptions leading to war and more, there is plenty to justify putting him on trial.
89%
No, like any president, he has made a few missteps, but nothing approaching "high crimes and misdemeanors."
4.1%
No, the man has done absolutely nothing wrong. Impeachment would just be a political lynching.
5%
I don't know.

Edit: added the real date (sorry 'bout that) to headline.

2. If I try to find that poll, or any other mention of impeachment
by any direction besides the link you provided, I can't find it. The must have it pretty well buried. I'll keep trying because I think it ought to be closer to the FRONT page! That's a lotta votes for impeachment!

to be honest. The news is scarcely out there.

Edit: There are perhaps a couple dozen of sites where the recent impeachment is mentioned. A few of M$M are carrying it. As I've opined before, this news will make the rounds on the blogs. Grassroots and the internet and all that....

ARTICLES WERE JUST FILED AGAINST THE PRESIDENT.

But nope, not a peep.

those of us who think the secret spying, the deceptions leading to war and more, there is plenty to justify putting him on trial but it's not a realistic, productive and fruitful move at this juncture. It's very much like the people here who believe that if you don't support impeachment as a move, you think the administration's hand's are clean. Bullshit. It's not that black and white.

Here's their own disclaimer:

Live Votes on msnbc.com

The differences between online surveys and scientific polls

One week in the middle of the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal, more than 200,000 people took part in an msnbc.com Live Vote that asked whether President Clinton should leave office. Seventy-three percent said yes. That same week, an NBC News-Wall Street Journal poll found that only 34 percent of about 2,000 people who were surveyed thought so.

More recently, in an msnbc.com survey conducted after a televised debate in the run-up to the New Hampshire primary, when asked “Who stood out from the pack?” 76 percent of the more than 55,000 people who responded chose Rep. Ron Paul of Texas.

This indicated strong support for Paul among msnbc.com readers.

11. That poll's been running since 2005, but it's still getting updated. Which leads me to an idea....

So here's the idea. Webmasters pay attention to search terms used to find or on their sites, so I would think that the news media sites would be no exception. However, I wonder if they may also use them as a gauge to see what's on peoples' minds.

I wonder what would happen if, say, CNN or MSNBC suddenly started getting thousands upon thousands of searches for the word "impeachment" on their sites?

Do you think they'd notice?
