Coulter is suddenly an "entertainer."
The CPAC organizer yesterday (I forgot to post this) is now just an "entertainer." They are trying to weasal out of this one. If they use her as a spokesperson, she's not an entertainer. I don't see her getting booked to nightclubs or the Comedy Network.

21. The right also uses the word 'entertainer' for Limbaugh
I suppose the right is now trying to tell us that Limbaugh and Ms. Coulter are not to be taken seriously and we are just silly for doing so.

I agree. The same goes for Ms. Malkin, Hannity, O'Reilly, Gibson . . .

Not that any sane person would take them seriously in the first place.

But since she's an "entertainer" and all.

8. They and she have done such a good job of hanging her
around their own necks, without, unfortunately, much help from us. The sudden burst of "Who's Ann Coulter" is pretty funny, in a tragic, ouch that hurts my hemorrhoids kind of way.

Since they're both doing that stupid "comedy" show on Faux, I wonder if the two of them talked.

Entertainer? I remember an "elf" working real hard on behalf of Paula Jones and then sending information discovered in the Jones case to Ken Star (a felony), then bragging about it on Geraldo.

12. I noticed that too. Of all places CNN is being apologetic for this nasty person.
Just when you think the media whores couldn't sink to a lower level, another rock layer is uncovered.

Rick Sanchez CNN used words to the effect, "She tries to be funny and controversial." Hey Rick! How about "She succeeds at being both shrill and caustic."

For the life of me, her commentaries are bereft of any morally redeeming value.

But to the right wing nut cases, pure VOMIT is considered *entertaining* if it comes out of a svelte blonde package.

and weak rationalizatoin from the MSM for not going after her ...

They EAGERLY hop on a misrepresentation of what John Kerry said about the troops ... They find some banal reason for not trashing this venehem spewing pig ... Just more of the same with these bought and sold whores ...

If I hear Blitzer refer to someone as a "good conservative" one more time I am going to find the adrenaline to toss my 35 inch TV through the bay window ...

Why would they distance themselves from her when she speaks directly to their base, the ignorant trash who don't know why we have to deal with that messy constitution? Maybe they could try putting a white sheet over her.

14. IMO, it's not necessarily ignorance, but a flaw of character that makes some people
Edited on Mon Mar-05-07 08:50 AM by ShortnFiery
have the capability of being ultra-greedy and full of hate for "the other."

In the midwestern plains I have many cousins who are only H.S. educated. However, I'm proud to say, the vast majority do not hate those unlike themselves. They work hard and long hours and don't keep up with current events. However, there's a certain flaw in a person's temperament that seemingly opens the door for *hate* to flow in.

IMO, the present day right wing white trash (educated or not / rich or poor) are the poster children of wannabe Nazi Storm Troopers and SS Agents who'd turn in their neighbor to TIPs in a heartbeat. They need to be contained in their own special corner, in their own special world.

There are many highly intelligent talking heads like Coulter and her buds from The American Enterprise Institute who are far from ignorant. But they have that "hate factor" in common with the uneducated right wingers. :(

19. They're clearly feeling the pressure and the heat
Now would be a good time to remind everyone that we should just ignore Little Arfin' Annie because she's irrelevant.

News flash: She is clearly not irrelevant to a significant segment of the population. We can make her irrelevant by firmly tying her remarks around her neck like a millstone, and attaching the whole odious package to every Republican and conservative candidate. Keep it up, folks.

23. Well, they are comparing her to Bill Maher, who is a comedian and an Independent at that
According to Fox Noise, if John Edwards can't take this criticism from this man (Cunter), how is he going to be able to stand up to criticism from world leaders?

Okay, so now Fox Noise is spreading the myth that Edwards "cannot handle this," as if he is sulking and crying and oh, boo hoo, "why, why oh God did she say that, why!!!"

How does one "handle" this criticism? Edwards has basically ignored it and said very little about it, other than to try and raise money about it. It's not "broken his will," so basically Fox Noise is calling John Edwards too weak to be President.

Once again, they try to "chip away" at John Edwards. They can't get rid of Edwards fast enough. God forbid that he be the Democratic nominee (signed, Republican strategists).

25. Defense against libel suits
Coulter, et al., have very good reason for calling themselves "entertainers."

Why Limbaugh or Fox News Are Never Sued for Libel
by Mr Populist
Tue Jan 09, 2007 at 09:39:22 AM PST

There is a unique rule of tort injury law that protects news entertainers Rush Limbaugh, Bill O' Reilly and Sean Hannity from liability from nearly any slanderous remark they make about any private citizen or public figure.

In tort law a plaintiff cannot bring a libel lawsuit against a defendant with a public reputation as a liar. The legal reasoning is that a known liar cannot damage the reputation of anybody, because nobody will believe the slanderous remarks of a known public liar!

That means that Limbaugh, Hannity and O' Reilly have made so many inaccurate, misleading and untruthful remarks about various people that they cannot be sued for libel because any reasonable person would never believe anything they said. So goes the precedent of law.

Therefore Limbaugh, Hannity and O'Reilly are practically exempt from tort actions and the more they slander people the harder it becomes to bring a lawsuit against them.

So the best retort to one of their attacks is:

I can't bring a lawsuit against them because they have a reputation of being a liar.
