Photo ID requirement and the College Vote
I took a little informal survey of my daughter's friends who are in college, and as it turns out ALL of them have drivers' licenses or state ID that reflects their parents' address (where they live during the summer & vacations)

Their address at school tends to change each school year, so that makes sense.

My question is, in the states that require government issued photo ID to vote, would they except that or are we looking at the next big caging lists to shut down the Dem vote? FL is one of those states BTW!

2. Can't they vote absentee in their home states?

I think that's how it works, at least it did in the military.

Edit: can't spell!

8. I can't either apparently
Except = accept, sheesh!!!

Well if they CAN vote absentee, that still means they have to KNOW that's how they have to do it and request the absentee ballot in time...so hopefully there can be a massive info campaign to that end.

3. Yes, we are looking at a huge caging operation all over the countr
and especially in swing states, and especially for the student, military and minority votes.

Have them ask NOW what they should do. And have them follow Palast's guidelines when they go vote.

Don't vote by mail. Don't go to the polls alone. Be prepared to be challenged.

6. Simply what I put in the post.
He said not to use absentee ballots and NOT to go to the polls alone if you're in one of the targeted groups or areas. I think he's right. It's a lot harder to intimidate a student voter if there are three other people standing behind that voter.

4. If I were a GOP party operative...
...I would have to find a way to reject votes for the Democratic nominee and this would do it.

Good thinking.

9. Is there some way to check one's voting status?
I've lived & voted at the same address so long that I get those pamphlets with the polling place and everything -- but is there anywhere people can check in advance of registration deadlines to make sure their info is current, etc??
