Disappointed in DU's apathy on the GOP dirty tricks operation in Wisconsin
I've posted two threads about the GOP dirty tricks operation being conducted in Wisconsin -- an operation designed to swing the April Wisconsin State Supreme Court election for the RW candidate -- but only a couple of DUers demonstrated any interest in them. I kicked the following thread for days, but people were more interested in debating Ann Coulter and
marijuana:

What is this all about? In short, both Creative Response Concepts (which has had a hand in at least half of recent GOP-sponsored smear efforts against Democrats) and the Club For Growth PAC have been sponsoring smear ads, as well as other things, in the state of Wisconsin, targeting progressive candidate Linda Clifford, who's seeking a seat on the Wisconsin State Supreme Court. The GOP wants RW hack Annette Ziegler on the court instead. (More info at the above link).

The importance of the forthcoming Wisconsin election can hardly be overstated, as the millions of dollars the GOP-linked organizations are pumping into their smear efforts illustrates.

1. It's an obscure Wisconsin judicial election
A big deal if you live in Wisconsin, but...

2. The Wisconsin State Supreme Court election is an "obscure judicial election"?
GOP-linked organizations based in D.C. and Virginia are funneling millions of dollars into this "obscure" election because they know how important it is to stack state supreme courts with conservative hacks.

3. so you're going to spam the board until you get the response you want?

Seriously, maybe if you made a better argument that campaign finance law (advertising for a particular candidate versus an issue) people might respond. Its standard politics to walk up to that line and cross it with your big toe because small infractions won't be addressed.

4. Standard politics? Well, in that case, it must have been damn stupid to post about the Smear Vets
You should have employed that unassailable logic of yours' a couple of years ago; it would have simplified matters for the whole board.

5. Again, make the case or quit your whining.

The article you cited simply mentioned that advertisement questioned the neutrality of the judiciary.

6. What "case" am I supposed to make?
Edited on Sun Mar-04-07 10:54 AM by brentspeak
The case you claim I'm supposed to make in order to have a reason to post the information? I cited two articles, one an editorial, the other a report. The editorial had a lot more to say than simply commenting on advertising.

(edited to sooth feelings)

"Firefox can't find the server at www.wispolitics.com."

So I haven't read it.

You should edit you previous post. We don't name call at DU. Do you want to get banned again?

edited: If you're saying you were never banned or given a "time out" then so be it. I know I'm not along in thinking you were sent to your for while.

8. Oh, yeah...can you explain this post of yours?
Where you claim that I had been "banned" before on DU? Sounds like somebody is confusing me with someone else.

10. Word around here was that you got banned.

If not my apologies. But I still find you divisive among Democrats.

7. I read the article when you posted it before.

I think there is so much going on that it's hard to keep up with it all. I'm sorry that you haven't gotten more responses. Perhaps we can propose some actions like letter writing. Who do we write to? What can be said?

P.S. I'd ignore the "get over it" contingent if I were you.
