My personal Memorial Day salute to my dear friend Bain Wiseman. KIA 12/1970 in Viet Nam.
Info at "The Wall" states that he was a helicopter pilot. He was not. He was flying an Army U-1 Otter fixed-wing airplane when he was shot down near Tuy Hoa.

RIP Bain.

3. It seems like yesterday.
Bain and I were fiercely competitive in flight school. It was obvious one of us would be the distinguished graduate. It was me by a few hundredths of a point in my final GPA.

Bain got married in flight school. I have never been able to find his wonderful wife. We (the single guys) had great times at the Wiseman hovel in Daleville, Alabama (Ft. Rucker).

4. Remembering Bain Wiseman and his sacrifice.
Missing him here today. Wish he could be with us to vote for someone to stop this war in November. 5th Rec. :kick:

I've never been to "The Wall" but I visited the travellig one when it was at the Texas state capitol and ended up blubbering all the way back to work. :(
