Deportations to rise 22 percent
Source: bg

The United States this year will mark for deportation more than 200,000 illegal immigrant criminals, a 22 percent increase from 164,000 in 2007, a senior Bush administration official said. The planned removals reflect a stepped-up enforcement effort, said Julie Myers, the Homeland Security assistant secretary who runs Immigration and Customs Enforcement. 2. I agree.
And from what I have seen, most of those they are rounding up have felony criminal records in the U.S. and have had warrants out on them for years. They are just now finally getting around to going after them.

I have no problem with sending back criminals. Now they need to start arresting employers who hire illegals and putting them in jail. Then we can start working on a real immigration plan for those who want to come her legally and who "will" obey the laws, not commit crimes!

3. That's a big reason why there hasn't been any real immigration reform.
The conservatives, despite their rhetoric, are balking at reforms to really crack down on the flow of illegals in this country because of pressure from their business constituents who pad their campaign coffers.
