Rising gas prices serves the elites in another way.
Other than the obscene profits they make off of our toil. People driving less means more people will be isolated. Isolation serves the elites in that it breaks down the social fabric and social cohesion that one on one, in person contact affords. Pretty soon, we'll all just be living in our cocooned homes only emerging to go to work to make money to buy goods and strain to keep a roof over our heads. Of course, the propaganda networks will be piped in so as not to cause rioting in the streets. Less contact means less communication with the outside world and that means an even less informed populace.

3. I'm sure they're working on that.
Just like they did to broadcasting when it failed to serve them in the '60s and '70s.

5. That was true
after the hurricanes in my neighborhood in Fl. We all worked as a team and spent evenings barbequing and talking as there was no power.

4. This strategy has been utilized for a while now.
You are, of course, spot on with your analysis.
