How does it work when we close down GD:P?
Edited on Tue May-20-08 02:54 AM by dkf
Will someone have to concede or is it based on mod consensus?

I was too distressed after my guy conceded last time to pay attention.

Who was the last one standing before Kerry anyway?

1. Personally, I'm over it.
Edited on Tue May-20-08 03:15 AM by quantessd
I'm over GD-P. And I have been, for months, now. Any sane person will agree with me.

Edit to add: I am voting for Obama tomorrow in the Oregon Primary. I haven't finished my decision how I will vote for everything, that's my excuse for procrastinating.

And, if you are a last minute voter, like I am, you have to PHYSICALLY GIVE YOUR BALLOT to one of several places available to you.

(Any freeps watching, please notice I did NOT suggest that votes have to be psychologically verified, nor verified by a psychic.) You just have to be there, and put your ballot in the box.

7. I don't know your voting preference. Who do you support?
Hillary Clinton? If so that's great but Obama will be the nominee.

8. I support Obama. I wanted to post how tickled I was that he told the GOP to
lay off Michelle, but I can't because I used up my 3 posts in GD:P.

I think its sad that supporters of our likely nominee aren't allowed to post favorably about our candidate if we've already used up our post limit.

2. I guess it has to be "official"
Edited on Tue May-20-08 03:02 AM by Syrinx
In other words, it could be as the convention is winding down. I really hope that the rumors of Hillary stepping aside Tuesday night after her Kentucky victory are true.

5. One of the candidates would have to concede; otherwise, it is going to the convention for a contest.
That's how I read it. But check out Skinner's post.

6. It says it ends when we have a presumptive nominee.
I'm not sure what that means.

9. I was a General Clark fan before I was a Kucinich fan before I was an Edwards fan.
Now, I support Barack Obama. No, not because he's the chopped liver of the D candidates, no. Because I truly believe that Obama will bring our nation back to greatness. Maybe.

It's a huge clean-up job on a massive scale. I also think Hillary Clinton would be excellent. Maybe. It is a massive undertaking for either cadidate.

However, Hillary Clinton is too "hated". Some of it is due to sexism, some due to the public's leftover leariness of her husband Bill, and some due to her unfortunate campaign strategies.

22. Yes, I know. That's a bit vague. But with the contention now between candidates,
one of them will have to concede in order to make the other the presumptive nominee.

At least, that's how I read it in this timeframe before the convention.

I'm sure others have fashioned contradictory meanings, but I don't have time to delve into them. Going to a meeting today...

See ya,

RL

15. It's Already Happened...
I didn't bother to jump into the GD-Pit...but saw many who did, but over the last few weeks I've started to see them posting again in here.

Believe it or not, some of us out here had no horse in this race and didn't need nor care for the coporate media or anyone else telling me whose "won".

I suspect we'll see some change here after the DNC credentials meeting, but I suspect there will be those who won't give up and others who will troll through to stir up some shit. If people want to continue to wage wars in the Pit, so be it...I've got an eye on bigger prizes.

In '04, it took a while for the Deaniacs and Clark supporters to come around, but that election is far different than this one...finished earlier and the chances in November weren't as good as they are this year. Looking at the past around here tends to bump you into the wall of the present and reality.

21. Snort - but many will stay.
The netvocates have been here longer than I've been a member here. (I read for a couple years before joining).

But yes, the paid operatives that work for various political groups won't waste time here for a year or two.
